Is there any particular advantage to the ylink long arm set up vs running with traditional independent upper links?

I've had both on Rex. I've had a 4" and 6" long 4 arm set up, and the the TnT y-link with a 3.5 inch lift (what's currently on there).

When the 4 arm set ups were "new" they were fine. However I wheeled the heck out of Rex. As I did so I bent arms, mounts, tore the mounts off of the frame, broke the drag link mount, broke teack bar mount, struggled with keeping the bump steer away, and of course alignment was out after every trip.

With the y-arms, once they made parts big enough for the fat pig Rex, I have bent an arm, bent a track bar. Rarely is the alignment out, no bump steer issues or anything. Bottom line is that I can wheel the heck out of it, not worried about breaking, then hit the highway for home. So drives nice on trail and road and is robust in my experience.

Do you have anymore pictures of the rear tube armor being built. I like the idea and have been trying to figure out how to go about doing mine.
Ill look.

Mini-T-Rex

One of the guys who works on Rex up at TnT built me a mini T-Rex RC Rig. He did a nice job. Here is the build thread link.

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-9-scale-rigs/433030-rmks-mini-t-rex-w-y-link-arms.html

He made it as much as a replica of big Rex as he could: Y-Link suspension, PS Fenders, Cage, SS TSL/SX's, Trail Ready Beadlocks, The dinosaurs. :) It will be fun to wheel. I'll bring it to Moab. :)

Here are a few pics:

The rig in the background is one of mine TnT is currently building. It'll be a lot like Rex when finished.

Rex got new trail doors. These are molded plastic, made by Strike Force Zebra. They seem well made, fit well. They also have storage space inside the doors.

I see a very jealous person in that picture :)
Yeah. He ordered a set for his orange crush renegade. I am getting another set for 001.

Is Mike no longer with TNT? The guy who did your build? He was a good dude!

RK
Mike isn't there any more. Yep, he had the lead on the original Rex build. Rex has been done over a couple times since then by Bob and Jason.

Here are two JKs in a stacker trailer. This is my "destination" trailer. We'll use this one for cross country trips or multiday trips where we go from a base camp. In order to get Rex to fit beneath the upper shelf and between the wheel wells I had to put him on small front tires.

Jeep one.

Then Rex.
