I want to change my hood decals to something custom but match the factory look. Does anyone know what the font is for the factory "RUBICON" hood decal?
Thanks for the info, Don! Great site and nice decals you have. I'll be ordering the "Wrangler" hood decals soon. Love the vintage look.$20 is for a pair of decals.
Anything sold in pairs has a title of Decals plural and is also noted as a pair in the item description.

That sounds a lot more reasonable. I'll be ordering soon, but I was wondering what the dark gray looks like. I'm looking for a charcoal, almost black with maybe a little metal flake in it.$20 is for a pair of decals.

The dark charcoal is definitely what you are looking for. Looks great on dark paint when you are after that subtle look. That sounds a lot more reasonable. Thanks for the update.
Correct, but you need to have a program that can edit vector paths so you can manipulate the letters to get them looking correct.diggin' up this thread-- thanks for al the leads.
it seems the "ITC Eras® Demi" is the most similar.

The rubicon lettering jason linked is not accurate.
To make accurate letters, you need to start out with ITC Eras Bold, take the curve out of the straight lines, take the slant out of the letters and stretch the result. Some very curvy letters like Cs and Ss need to be further modified to look right.

I started out with a rubbing from my jeep, and figured out what I had to do to get them EXACT and follow that process for making other letters that don't exist in stock.
I have seen a lot of people try to do it, and few take the time to come as close as I feel I have.
By the way, pixeldecals.com is my site and I think after all the mentions it's high time I purchased a vendor star. :innocent:
P.S. If it wasn't such of a PITA to make them exact, I wouldn't have given out my trade secret either. LOL!
Yes, Pixel decals has this figured out. I love how mine turned outCorrect, but you need to have a program that can edit vector paths so you can manipulate the letters to get them looking correct.
At this point, I have made over 300 versions of rubicon decals for guys and I have every letter sorted out.
You still have that .ai file, by chance?Hi guys. I tried installing that font on my Mac but it does not work after putting into my font library. Shows up as an .ai file. Does not show as a font in either my Photoshop or my Adobe Illustrator.
Ole well.
No. I do not have it. Can you please send it to balusek@gmail.com?Did you get it yet?
If not I have it.
