Not a bad idea, Scott. I hate that damn hood rod!Still waiting on my Ace Fenders.....so I put these on to satisfy my need to do something.

I'm still baffled as to why they moved the hood rod from the bottom of the hood to the top of the radiator crossmember. On the TJ you could use the hood rod as a handle to gently lay the hood back against the windshield when you needed more room or light than you could get by propping up the hood on the rod. On the JK you can still gently lay the hood back against the windshield, but you have to walk around the side of the Jeep to do so, you can't just extend the rod and gently push from the front of the Jeep. Not a bad idea, Scott. LOL, it was the V-notch at last chance canyon. Been through it a few times before and this happened the second time through on this day. The problem was I blew the passenger side front tire and that side of the Jeep just dropped. Had to winch myself through to the end of the V-notch with the passenger side of my Jeep laying against the rock wall of the V-notch with the tire off the bead and steering almost impossible. It actually sounded worse than the damage looks. This is what happens when you try to keep up with DesertDog!!(However it's not funny) Sorry to see this, hope it was worth it....as in a BADASS TRAIL!! Hope to see you guys back up this way for next years JKation!! Next year TWO jugs of Apple Pie!
Edit.....Well by lookin at the pics on FB, I guess Chris wasn't even there. So it was caused by you taking it alittle to far over the edge!! Oh well it's all in fun!
