Hi Ed, did ya tell Kyle the shits still ****** up? He seemed pretty effected by all this.

I'm using:

Laptop, windows 10, firefox, classic skin.

In dark, I can see avatars, and generally the pictures, but not always.

Sometimes, it's actually a challenge to get it to switch from dark to classic or back the other way. Other times it doesn't change at all. And other other times it will change with hitting the back button.......................but I hadn't tried to change the skin.

I'll take flaky site behavior over all of the CCOR / Morris spam any day.

while I “get it “ ;ads play a vital role with our fav forum being able to continue on, I would love if I could let CCOR or AutoID or CarID or Morris4x4 know that it honestly doesn’t matter if you paste /plaster this forum’s Vendor Marketplace slots up so that it fills up the Active Threads view page by way of sheer post-inundation; I will give attention to one good advert that contains substance over your outdated ,old “shotgun” , pray and spray method everyday.

It actually generates a negative opinion of a vendor to me ( a modern target group member ) when one resorts to that wall plastering methodology. For me at least, stuff like that can sway my buying choice in another vendors direction just based upon principals. Just saying I agree with @snout to the nth degree on this subject.

About the site, I have gotten used to the less awesome skin . I come here for the quality of people , the hugging , the brotherhood & for savvy guidance on how to contain the frightening power that my jeep 3.8l engine has. :shitstorm:

Nicely said Jeffery. I purchase items from a vendors that cares about the people here along with his business. That comes into the forum and presents ideas, food for thought, laughs and general bullshittin'. Not just one that comes to shill their shit and run as fast as they can with that dollar.

As for the skins on this site. Classic seemed to run faster, as there was a lot less shit happening on the screen. But at least with the new age dark scheme, I can see pictures. Who truly gives a **** on what someone avatar looks like? I'd rather see gt1guy's or Kowboy's badass build pics.

Yeah, I think it’s more of a blanket coverage effort? Not being an ad guru , I speculate that there are ad dept , marketing reps for social / online media at places like Morris 4x4 or CCOR and they simp,y observe our interactions and tendencies enough to discern that the majority of us regulars ( alternately known as ‘revenue opportunities’) will hit the ‘Active Topics’ since we know all the other stuff ...the logical method would be to take advantage of lulls in new threads but blast&occupy this space by submitting 20 new threads which,of course, will promote those so that there’s an entire page with all but 3-4 entries being for your advertised wares or deals. That is free market capitalism at its finest. Still, as as it is, it feels slimy and too forced. Might work on WayofLief or JK-Forum but they don’t know there are actually a fair number of us GenX , midlife sarcastic , bullshit detectors around here that are none too fond of such condescending tactics. I’ve bought from Morris4x4 in past, even with their marketing material included in box that always has bible verses and “ love Jesus if you honk for 4x4s ” crap in the box with the part but now ( I’m not joking...being Jewish, I kinda notice sacreligeous stuff like that ) , I actually am turned-off enough by that to where I don’t think I’m gonna go there again for business , even if it is for a fan shield , rare rear wiper arm or trim for a mid 90s XJ ....this turns me against vendors, sorry.

Re: CCOR , I still have no idea wtf that is or who they are ...same with AutoID ...these I always assume are our forum being SPAMMED like on mobile phones or email. Is CCOR a vendor ? What a craptastic abbreviation or name!

Obviously these adverts are not accomplishing anything with me, at least. I ignore them like they are a whore with a cold sore her Eve cigarette is sticking to...

So, being that I’ve been bredNspread ( raised) between Atlanta and Nashville + I’ve lived in Athens & been there innumerable times, I will admit to obviously overlooking Classic City Offroad in Athens , Georgia ( CCOR) . I only know about AllSouth motorsports for that region. Maybe Toms4x4 ....That being said, I’d like to state that there’s nothing wrong with being a reseller and having an offroad shop. It’s just the advert methods that are quite overzealous and seem a bit much. I don’t mean to badmouth our vendors with the above comments. I was just stating my personal view on blanket advertising on a rather niche, specialized forum such as this. To each their own , CCOR & Morris 4x4 et.al...

Anyways all the little buttons at the top are there but I have to hover the mouse over blank space in order to see one. But it never becomes visible it just tells me what it is. So I have to spend time hovering all over the damm place to see where I need to be.

This looks long and hard to read but it’s not.

Go clear out old or defunct images you’ve uploaded,maybe? Even with greater storage available from premium acts, the stuff fills up. It’s why I’ve pretty much always used imgur.com non-public posts to just be able to grab a url of the image stored in their servers instead of Vertclescope’s . If you’re uploading image files directly from your pc or phone to jkowners, there’s s limit you’ll reach even with a blue star.
If that ain’t it, have you checked your browser , cleared it’s internet temp file cache & even tried another browser Gunny? I’m not jokin when I recommend ( for testing) try Opera’s latest ( www.opera.com) it’s actually a very quick and stable browser. I use Mozzilla’s latest or Edge but my default is Opera version 0.54 iirc.

For testing, at least go signup for free imgur acct , then upload your picture that didn’t upload above to imgur as a ‘ private’ or ‘hidden’ upload. You’ll then get links in a pulldown menu & you want to chose ‘ Direct Link’ which gives you a url ending in your uploaded image file suffix , such as,” https//i.imgur.com/#######.jpg or similar. Then , copy that direct link.

Next, go to jkowners where you’re replying or posting & now, when you chose the little ‘Image add’ toolbar in jkowners, instead of exploring to find a local photo on your system, paste that ‘Direct link’ address in and it’ll upload from someplace this isn't storing it on verticlesvopes storage.

Yeah , noticed your thread looked different , couldn't put my finger on it though .
There are plenty of problems that need attention , but the vendors getting pooched like this really blows and not a gentile wind but a noxious back-side blast .

Yeah, I only see the Chapelle picture and the St.Patricks Day dressup image on that thread.
Now, the new security announcement did state that any images not secured ( iows , if they're sourced from http versus an https URL ) will not work any longer. Were all those images you are missing now posted from a web source that wasn't secured ? Just wondering because that could resilt in a lot of images being no longer displayed .
I'm not the admin , but also just offering possible help.

Yeah our site is not being served up via https so that could be the issue here. @Admin really dont want to have to update all my links and change my site up just because of this :nono:
