I think I like this idea. Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like there are a number of different OEM JKU springs - Do those come in different rates and would you suggest a specific one?
Thanks.
The rears get stiffer as the last 2 digits of the part number go up and as such the "58", "59", and "60" are too stiff for a 2 door. I had 58s and they rode rough. The fronts though get longer as the final 2 digits of the part number go up but the spring rates and ride quality are the same. The "19" fronts are the longest known except possibly the 10th anniversary rubicon unlimited springs but I have not seen the specs on those and they might be stiffer than the others not longer.

The 19 front springs should give you 1.75-2" front lift. For the rear the RK 1.5 triple rate rear coils seem to be a good match for the 19 fronts and should give about 1.5" rear lift and will give a nice LCG stance and good ride quality. Shocks run with those springs, stock bumpstops, flat flares and 37s should be 14-15" collapsed and 25-26" extended

Here's an in progress pic of the work I'm doing on the wildboar flares. I'm working on making them a little more angular. I'm open to any thoughts or suggestions.

Very nice progress! Subscribed!

Why the monster flares?
I originally liked the look for the wildboar flares. Basically, I liked the stock look but wanted something that would fit the 37s better. When that showed up I wasn't as impressed as I was based on the pictures I saw. However, they couldn't be returned so I've been working to make them a little less obtrusive. I also think that the difference in color is making them stand out more than they will once they are painted to match the body. we'll see how that works out.......

New 37" MT/Rs showed up today thanks to John at Crawlin Performance! I hope to get them on later this week.

I cannot get photobucket to work on my phone so I can show you my stock cut flares but you absolutely need to chop those bulky flares down to match your JK better. You have gone minimalist on everything so those flares need to match. Chop them way down, make them flat and slightly narrower than they are and angular at the ends and they will look 100% better.

Nice what wheels are they going on?
They are going on Black Rugged Ridge wheels. As for the fenders - I completely agree with your comments. They have already been cut to be flat on the sides and I am going to make them a little more narrow. The front and the back have also been cut/going to be cut at an angle too. Here are a few more pictures of the front and back. I've got a little more work to do ont he flares and then I'll paint them to help get the look right. Of course the new tires will fill in the fenders a lot more so the picture look a little strange with the itty bitty tires.

This is how I made my OEM flares angular. I left them pointy and they follow the line of my chopped OEM front bumper. I cut them narrow towards the front and left them the same coverage as stock towards the rear (basically I have a 6" wide flare the whole way in front not the 6" to 11" wide it gets stock) It looks absolutely stupid like that with my stock tires and wheels but my 40s go on tomorrow morning.

With your fab skills so far I imagine you will get those fenders looking a little better. I actually still have my favtory jku springs if you are intetested.
Thanks for the offer on the springs. I did find a set of basically new take offs from a dealer for a great price. Thanks again.

I like what you've done with your stock flares! It looks great. I might take some of your ideas as I continue to work on mine. I do think I want them a little wider to cover more of the new tires. Thanks for posting the pictures!

Yes in retrospect I should have left the front flares an inch or two wider in front but they still cover the same as stock towards the cab of the Jeep and they give an aggressive buggy like look compared to leaving them super wide and flat.
