since i got my new to me 2011 i haven't really found a spot yet to put my phone. the cup holder seems like its deeper than it was in my 08. i've put it up on the windshield in the little tray they have there, and there is also a little spot underneath the emergency brake that i've put there as well. but since i have the uconnect option it really doesn't matter where i put it. :thankyou:

Goaterguy, please post a pic when you get a chance, I'm very interested in this mount. Do you use it in the CD slot or in the vertical gap next to the radio?

Vector Off-Road E-dock

I finally got around to installing my Vector Off-Road E-dock along with a Ram Mount set-up

RAM-B-231U UNPK RAM W/ U-BOLT FOR 3/4" TO 1" DIA.
RAM-HOL-UN7BU UNPKD X-GRIP UNIVERSAL HOLDER W/ 1" BALL
RAM-B-201U-A UNPKG RAM DBL SOCKET ARM B BALL A LENGTH

The picture is not the best. But the setup works great for my iPhone while it is still in the case.

I absolutely love the set up I put together for my Droid 3

since I have the base model Sport, I didn't get the mygig or any stereo half worth a damn.

So I had to figure something out for my music needs without having to struggle with the darn phone in the cup holder and aux cable mess, plus it'd be nice to have quick access to google maps.

I got the standard Motorola windshield dock for it and got an extra, extra long AUX cable. I ran the AUX cable inside the dash over to the headunit and I wired in a new AUX port onto the back of the headunit and plugged the cable in there, now I have my music, AND a make shift hands free calling function.

This dock also has a charging function which I plan to integrate into the Jeep eventually as well.

How difficult was it to install the rear AUX port?

I would love to know how you wired your aux port onto the back of the stereo.. Could you explain it for us?

Sent from my JK in a parking garage waiting for jury duty.

I use this stuck to my windshield. No problems in the years I've been using it. $20 on amazon.

They've got this one with a beefier suction cup mount and a more robust arm that sticks out a little further than the one I use for my phone. I use this set up for my GPS and again, have had no problems.

Best part of about Ram Mounts, they're designed and manufactured in the USA. :thankyou:
