With my 2.5" lift and 34" tires I am sitting about 5" higher than stock. My 8 year old cant climb in! He can but its a great deal of effort and i usually have to kind of give him a lift and a push. What have others of you with kids done? I Really dont like Side steps and was even thinking of getting a length of rope with a wood dowel or something on the end that tucks under the seat but can be pulled out for a step.

I have a 2dr Rubicon with the factory sliders so no help there. I lift my 3 and 6 yo boys up to get in. My wife was happy when I put grab handles in, but after the move to the 3.5" RK lift, they became useless to her.

I should put a rope ladder in for the boys.

I have 3.5 inches of lift and 35's and my 5 yr old hops right in, when I pick him up from school he climbs in with his backpack on and his lunch box in his hand faster than the kid in front of me can climb into his moms minivan or kia suv.

i put a handle on the bar right above where the plastic trim starts (so its pretty low), my 6 year old grabs it and grabs the back of the seat and pulls himself in. im going to add src sliders as a step when i stick the 2.5" on

I've got the src and I'm only on a 2.5" lift. My 3 yr old uses them well grabbing his car seat. He climbs up the tire and over the top when it's down using the safari straps. I was going to get rid of them as you loose clearance, but I think I might modify them to be like the ace sliders. I like the steps too for strapping shut in the roof or taking the top down.

My 5 year old grandson uses the slider and the back tire as a ladder and gets in about 80% of the time. Sometimes he asks for help. My 7 year old grandaughter uses the grab handles and climbs right in.:smokin:

My 4 and 6 year old grand kids climb right in. But I have the Olympic reversible sliders. Before the sliders I used tie down straps looped through 6 inch long pieces of PVC pipe as stirrups. They were looped around the seat posts. I made them in the parking lot of home depot. Parts = PVC pipe, Tie down straps. and PVC cutter. You flip them under the seat when not in use.

And then, to help you out with the Misses - get one of those bumper stickers that says "Forget the horse and the cowboy - I have a Jeep"

My 9 year old has no problems getting in and my 6 year old uses the bracket for the door latch as handle and pulls himself up, they both love riding on the JEEP and they want nothing to do with my wifes murano hahahaha'

i got an 11 yr old boy and 9 yr old girl and both have taken after there mom in the height dept. i put some cheap side steps on from jcwhitney. once they can get in and out without them or i trade up for a 4 dr. which may happen this coming spring, i am taking them off. i have watched them use the seatbelt like a rope. they would pull it out till it stops and start climbing. with the top off they will not under any reason use a door or the lack there of. they prefer to climb up the wheel and over the tub. fine with me that means i dont have to get out and let them in. will admit its kinda funny watching them.

I have a 2 yr old and I have to make sure to keep my doors shut , or he climbs right in and turns every knob , light , switch , vent and anything else he can do , he has been doing this for 6 months now and I have 3.5 in lift with 35's . If you just let them play around it , when sitting in driveway/garage , they will figure how to make it work , then when you need them to climb up , it will be second nature . Obviously make sure it is in park/parking brake is up , when allowing them to use the Jeep playground .

He does the same thing when I have my Starcraft 11rt camper popped out , he thinks its personal playground also , I just make sure all gas lines are shut down and he cant start anything . The hard part of allowing them play in the fun places is figuring out what is going to go haywire when you turn the ignition or flip the electric on . Wipers wiping , ac blowing , when want heat , turn signals are on . In camper , all the lights/stereo are on and I get lazy and just kill with flipping a breaker .
