Just adding to what has already been stated.

Definitely recommend the Mopar big brake kit with the booster and master cylinder. The pedal is hard as a rock and brakes work great. I did the big rotors with single piston calipers at first and that was good but as @SoK66 said, the booster and m/c complete the package and gets the brake feel that I was looking for as well.

I also have crown stainless lines.

One more tidbit is that I use the Castrol DOT4 brake fluid in the black bottle which has for years been the poor man's racing brake fluid. Just look at it as a DOT3 fluid with a high boiling point. The boiling point is (last time I looked into it) really good for a DOT4 fluid and may be as high as some DOT5 fluids.

has anyone seen that Crown is now offering a BBK? looks to be the same as the MOPAR kit, aka Ram 1500 parts with a caliper bracket. it's significantly cheaper, at $350-$515. of course they're Chinese parts, but anyone have experience with their brake parts they could share?

I've got them on my rig, basically they're an adaptation of RAM1500 double-piston calipers and pads on a larger diameter rotor with custom caliper brackets... They made a pretty big difference in my rig.

After a bunch of research I just completed most of my upgrade. I did not want to spend and insane amount, after all this is a Jeep I do not need to stop on a dime and high speeds are never attained. On my 'go fast car' I did have 4 piston Alcons and huge rotors to bring me down from triple digits quickly, these are not needed in my Jeep.

I went with the Crown big brake kit in front with stainless lines and the Tereflex big rotor kit in the rear with Hawk pads and stainless lines. These together offer much improved braking and I am waiting on the Mopar BBK master/booster kit. This can all be had for a little over 1k and provides much improved braking.

I have the teraflex kit, it is massive in comparison to the stock setup. If you want the best, Winwood has a 6 piston setup. Runs a couple grand or so for the complete kit.

Got the Teraflex from and rear kit, and replaced it with the crown set up, rears are stock. Thanks for the help, for me it’s the crown set up. Probobaly going to go with the Dynatrac rear set up in the future.

Reviving an old thread.

I’ve been running 1 tons in my rig for several years now. 2007 JKUR it’s now my daily driver again. The build thread is on here if y’all want details. I’m running Chevy 3/4 ton calipers front and rear. I’ve always had issue with my mastercylinder not moving enough fluid. The main issue is that over time the caliper pistons start dragging and the there isn't enough negative pressure to pull the pads from the rotors. So what I’m looking for is an options for a master upgrade one with the largest bore increase. I’ve read all I can stand and I’ve seen all the cool nifty new parts. I’m leaning to the Mopar BBC and boaster. I still run ABS.

Thoughts comments suggestions?

I’m just looking for a master cylinder. I’m running a 78 60 front and a 89 14 rear with a disc brake conversion from Ruff Stuff that I modified to hold 2 abs sensors on each side. This thing will come to a seaming hualt if I smash the brakes. It’s just has to go a ways before I get pressure.

Ok, don't laugh (Try not to) . I got a 2014 JKR a couple years ago. Stock wheels, 32's (255/75-R17) and I don't like the stopping power. I read a little and ordered TeraFlex Big brake kit for front. Now, everywhere I read, it says it is good for 33 size tire and above. No where I can find anything on even if it fits. All places says needs 17 rims which I have (stock) and the regular MT tires. No lift and no modifications. Is this TeraFlex (13.3" rotor) even going to fit? Will it give me added stopping power? Did I just waste money?

I can return them. Please advise.

You'll be fine.

Get the Mopar big brake kit master & booster. Be sure to bench bleed before installation. Done.

I'd have advised the Teraflex Big Rotor kit for your application, rather than the BBK. Much simpler installation and very efective with just the stock calipers and master cylinder.

Ok, first off I’ve done the searches, and read multiple LONG threads. So what’s the deal, is the BR6 kit/idea gone the way of the dodo, or what? The options seem to be Dynatracs kit or Teraflex... Really, a grand for some rotors, brackets, and pads using the same single-piston calipers??? Then you can’t just run at AutoZone/Orielly and get pads off the shelf. Or there appears to be an OEM brake upgrade option but from what I can tell it is lesser than compared to the BR6 that I am trying to find better/definitive information on. Any help, insight, or direction would be awesome. I am trying to get the jk back together.... drivable, I just need to get the bumpers and sliders/rails back on but I may accidentally pull an “I don’t know where those nice shiny new nemesis industries billy rocker set up come from and why it’s on the porch” moments.... the other thing that I need to do is to sort all of the bolts back out for the front, rear, winch, rails & sliders. Kids...
I swapped out my 07 front calipers and rotors with 2020 JL calipers and rotors. FIt like a glove. Just trimmed back the dust shields. JL brakes are massive. No need for booster upgrade since I only did the fronts. I run 35's and have the XRC armor front and back with winch and both metal bumpers. Its stops on a dime. I paid 100 bucks for entire front set up. They were take offs on Offerup. Genuine Mopar.

I would look at the Baer 6 piston caliper set front and rear if you don’t mind the price tag. (They will even custom paint them for you)
go with stock JL set up. I got my fronts for 100.00 used. I put them on a 2007 JK 4dr. Fit perfect. Stopping power is amazing. All stock Mopar.

It has become increasingly clear the hot ticket for JK brakes is a swap-in of JKR/JT brakes, fronts at a minimum. They'll work great with the stock JK M/C. Just trim the JK's front dust shield. The rears are a plug & play.

The good thing about this is the JL parts are going to be available for a long time.

I found set of 2020 jl front HD (Heavy Duty) stock brakes with pads and rotors dor $100. Trimmed dust shield a bit. And it fit like a glove. Zero issues. Took wire brush to center hub and rotor fit perfect. You have to have no less than 17" wheels for it to work. I stalled new Teraflex ss lines and new crush washer. The power is amazing. I only did the fronts so I did not need new booster.

I currently have the Tf BBK in front and their BRK in rear, along with the Mopar BBK master & booster. Considering the JLR fronts for when tbe TFs need replacing.

My vote gets the Teraflex BB Kit!
