New to the Jeep world, so be gentle with me lol. I've been reading a lot about the plastic bushings on the transfer case plastic cable bushings failing. I took the advice and bought 6 spare ones from a dealer here in Calgary. They said the never really heard of any problem and had not replaced any. They had to order them in for me. Got them in my glove box but don't really know how to replace them when they fail. Does anyone have a "How to Replace Them for Dummys" if I have a failure of one? Like a video or pictures. I crawled under my jeep and looked around for the cable but couldn't find it.

Jeep JK Transfer Case Cable Upgrade
I just had to replace mine a few weeks ago. It came apart while I was in the back country of course.
The plastic bushing just slips in the loop of the cable and over the pin on the lever of the transfer case. You can put the bushing on one side really easy the hard part is getting the cable, pin, and bushing to all snap into place. I used a pair of channel locks to squeeze it together. Without the leverage of the pliers getting it to pop into place could be a pain.
It is good to know the same bushing is also on the other end of the cable and on both ends of the auto transmission cable (least I have heard this mine is a manual)

the jk transfer case 4H and 4L selector like most has no shift synchros. Making it a habit to shift while slightly moving is the best free/staying clean advice anyone can give you.
