What the hell is the center loop for in the older models anyway?

That makes sense. My hood loop and nipples are gone, so I won't be putting mine down.

They fit exactly the same. The hard top will go right on and as long as you use the door surrounds from the 2007 the soft top will work too.

People need to stop making bogus comments and making it harder for others to figure things out.

my 08 JKU used the front loop, my 2010 JK sport does as well.... just to add to the conversation tell your friend to check out www.wildboarproducts.com their hardtops and grills are badass... the hard looks like a bestop trektop nx.

My 2008 JKU with a 2011 JKU top isn't able to use the front loop as its too far over to the passenger side for the latch to grab it.

as mentioned earlier in this thread, there is a mopar kit to move the loop over to the left of center.

For 45$ I'll probably get it eventually, but if the 07-08 hard top didn't latch to that loop I'm not super worried about it.

You can get it cheaper, quadratec was just the first link I found. Put the part number into google.
