Cylinder 4 misfire

I own a 2014 wrangler sport unlimited jk and I had it in the shop for over a month and they informed me they want to put a new engine in it because of a miss fire on cylinder 4. Before taking into the shop we changed spark plug, coil packs, and valve cover gasket. The shop changed the cylinder head twice to know avail.

If anyone has any idea what caused this issue or ideas on how to fix it without putting in a new engine I would appreciate the info. Thank you in advance!

A worn spark plug, bad ignition coil, a faulty fuel injector, and a leaking valve are some possible causes of the P0304 code.

Were the parts that have been replaced, Mopar OEM?

Only that 1 code… You could try swapping the coil pack with one from a cylinder not throwing codes. If you get the same code, it’s not the coil. The code shows up on the cylinder you moved it to then it is the coll. Replace it. No cylinder change on a coil swap, change the plugs. See if code clears. If it have a code reader you could check the duty cycle of the

Thank you to everyone trying to help me figure this problem out. We have tried everything y’all suggest. We are going to take it to a different dealership in a couple weeks for a second opinion. Hoping for the best. We have also unplugged the computer for 24 hours and replaced the battery. Still having same issues.

in reply to cylder misfire.My daughters 2012 Wrangler was having random misfires. Was very sporadic.1 mechanic had it 3 days & couldn't recreate a misfire . Finally the father of 1 of my sonx basketball players took a look. 1 coil was partially loose so it made contact most of time. He changed the coils & plugs. So far so good When I researched prior. said anything that effects vacuum line could cause a misfire
