Hi,

after mounting my winch on the original European bumper and using a synthetic rope I also have to use a "special" fairlead for that rope.

No good looking and working possibility to mount additional lights on it :bawling:

That`s how it looks until yet:

Now I thought maybe there is a possibility to mount lights on the original rollerfairlead - this must be a good place but there is still the problem using synthetic rope and a rollerfairlead :shaking:

After searching a little while I found these "Delrin" Rollers for using a synthetic rope with the original rollerfairlead of my Warn winch :bounce::

So after putting all the things "together" this is the actual result - not finished but on the way...

a clooser look:

more clooser:

I will post some pics after finishing my work including the new license plate holder - also some pics when it is night.

Forgot to tell you - it is the Xmitter from Vision - Type XIL-320: 18" !

Hope you like it and my english is understandable !?

Welcome to the forum! Great job on mounting the light, looks good there.
I really like the way the bumper/winch looks, I've never seen a combo like that before now. I'm also diggin' those front turn signals, is that a stock or aftermarket part?

Hi,

thanks for welcome !

Yes - the front turn signals are an aftermarket part - they are from HELLA but I do not know the part-nr. because I ordered them here in Germany at K&S - it is a Jeep "Tuning" company for many years.

Nice work Harold-Hans. I like how you've been able to modify the existing bumper and the solution with the Xmitter looks perfect. :smokin: How is the light output from the Xmitter? Do you have any night shots?

I used to live in Germany a lifetime ago. That's a beautiful country you have there. I look forward to getting back to visit sometime.

you can use a synthetic rope on a metal roller fairlead, as long as the fairlead isn't gouged and chewed up from having used a wire rope on it.

i prefer using a roller fairlead with synthetic ropes, because i've seen synthetic ropes burn through the deirlin hawse fairleads when used at extreme angle pulls.

alternatively, you can get a "plastic" deirlin (not sure if that is spelled correctly) roller fairlead made specifically for synthetic ropes - although, like i said, a metal one is fine, as long as the rollers haven't been previously abraded.

Very Nice! You did a nice job - very clean - are you a technician? - notice the loom on the wire behind the winch - looks like some very nice custom fabrication - I like the use of the heavy duty tie downs! The yellow tie downs look like they are powder coated. I'd like to see your wiring under the hood. Out of curiosity, in your third picture, what is that device on the bench in the upper right?

Not until yet - but yes for sure I will post some night pics as soon as possible ;)

As you would like to visit Germany I would like to visit the US again - it is also a lifetime ago since I was in the US.

Hi,

only for clarification - the glory for that complete build is not mine - everything that is done until yet and in the future on my Yellow Rubi is done by my buddy Randy !!!

He has his own "little" company and working on Jeeps since many many years - he is the man behind those great work - a real Jeep enthusiast !!!

Welcome Harald, that looks good, I have not seen another stock bumper cutout like that. Makes a very professional install.

Oh and JohnnyD, good eye on the bench. I didn't even notice that thing the first time around, although I did notice the engine lift on the left.:D

Hi Johnny,

the device is a "turning lathe" ;)

ha ha, it's obvious to me now. The way it was cut off in the pic, it does look like just a grey box with lots of switches and handles.
