Purchased a 2015 rubicon 6 speed on Valentines Day with a moderate RK 2.5 lift and 33s ditched that and put 4.5" springs beadlocks and 37 bias ply trepadors. Loved the setup and enjoyed it, it absolutely dominated Alaskas mud, well atleast made me too cocky and always trying the harder lines. Definitely that guy that isnt afraid to let it rip in a new Jeep. Was happy with this set up but Always wanting something bigger because bigger is better right?? :grin2:.
Picked up a set of 06 f350 axles for $350. ordered a set of 43 sx, Trusses, Synergy 8" stretch to get me reid knuckle for cross over. still need to figure out Hydro assist Drive shafts and order gears (5.38s) and lockers. Thinking an E locker in the front and a grizzly in the rear. Currently the jeep is sitting with the 60 under it and waiting on the stretch kit to show up

But heres some pictures from this past spring wheeling. We were out every weekend enjoying the backcountry of AK
Ill try to get some up to date pictures of the jeep

43's! Damn that is HUGE. You are up to your belly in most of those pictures, hopefully that size will keep you off the bellypan.

Rig looks like it's at "beast" and headed to "superbeast" - thanks for posting up

So . . . what's the story here?:

Winch disassembled for repair on the trail or nasty catastrophic surprise?

Learned the value of snatch blocks. Was bumper deep buried in a snow drift. With winch lime pulled out 50’ to a tree and constant pull till it started lifting up the rear slowly. Figured I should have let off but conitinued and kaboom it blew the drum and everything to pieces.

Sexy wheels. Does that Synergy stretch keep the stock gas tank?

Also, did all that dirt on the floor come off the Jeep?

Yep keeps the gas tank in factory location with zero modifications to it. Just have to drop it to install the bracket and remove the factory ones. Yes that’s not even a 1/3 of the dirt I’ve swept up that has fallen off it. Not to mention before starting this project I spent a solid two hours power washing it.

Sooo ran into an issue of how the hell do people fit 43s on 4.5” of lift. There’s like zero room for uptravel and have a fender flare. Which is needed up here. Sooo thinking about installing ORI Struts on the to let me get the level of lift I want and a smooth comfort ride. What’s everyone’s opinion on them?

Picture of the tire mounted on the jeep with current suspension

@gt1guy recently slayed that exact dragon (or one remarkably similar).

If I did the "mention" thing right ( :dunno: ) he may be able to chime in here.

Otherwise, check out his build thread: https://www.jkowners.com/forum/modified-jk-tech-dept/360929-blue-jeep-build.html

He did a shitload of body modification to stay "low" but he can probably tell you how many feet of lift you need

Honestly, your fenders are going to be the easy part. Getting full steering at full articulation is the head scratcher. Without a lot of lift, everything is in the way, including the hood and grill.

Since every build is different in one way or five, I'd start by just seeing if you get full lock to lock steering without the tires hitting the frame at the lift you have now. Then start cycling the suspension, mark everywhere you have interference with a paint marker. If you're like me, you will have just painted everything forward of the firewall a new color.

The bottom line is that running that size tire is no joke. It's going to be a ton of work to do right.

I have 45" SXII's on 3.5" lift and everything forward of the firewall has been modified in some form or fashion. The only stock part left, is the hood, and the front of it has been narrowed 10".
I stretched my front 5" so that really added to the amount of hacking I had to do.

Your rear should be easier with the stretch you have. Just start getting yourself ready for a comp cut back there.

The wider your wms/wms is, the less cutting you'll have to do.

Big bore showed up. Installing it today.
Dis timing chains over the weekend. Chains were definitely stretched but it appears to not be my only issue. Still have a lot of codes for camshaft misalignment. Now to figure out that issue....

Ordered gears two weeks ago from fusion 4x4. Still waiting on those to show up.

Jeeps about to get another total make over, going to rip every wire out of the damn thing, put in a 5.3/4l60e in it with the Holley terminator setup and have something more reliable than the old 3.6. Hopefully it goes smooth.
