Ok. So my front Rubi D44 with Ten Chromo shafts and CTM U-joints is paid for and will be on it's way to me by the end of the week. I have been researching how to hook up the factory locker in my X and can't find all the info that I need. I've found several write ups on using the factory wiring harness...I have no desire to spend 80 bucks for a couple plugs. I think I want to go the same route as Phil D in this write up.

I understand how he taps into the plug on the axle...

What I don't get is how/where to run these wires to hook it up. I know very little about automotive electrical. I can figure a way to run wires through the vehicle...I just don't understand the electric/technical side of hooking this up. Do I need a relay? How do I power this and hook up a switch? I'm thinking of going this way as far as switches....

Or possibly this way, from 12volt guy.

These switches are for a toyota and I wouldn't get the harness...just the switch panel that I could mount somewhere.
I also have a set of KC lights on my front bumper and another set on windshield brackets that I need to hook up. I'm also thinking I should get this as well.

I think it's similar to the painless auxillary fuse block. I need to message 12voltguy and ask about it still.
If I were to go with the 12voltguy switches...which is where I'm leaning...those things are tits....I'd also go with these switches for my lights.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

83 views and not one response? Good thing I figured it out on my own. :thefinger:
