It was inspiring.
Not only am i not a seasoned wheeler, I'm not even a seasoned driver yet.my e250 2wd VAN can do that....I know...I've had it a few places it shouldnt have been (some campgrounds here in ohio are ROUGH to get to!!)
but she has real tires on her...and a seasoned wheeler driving...skill makes all the diffrence...
Too much sidewall ??!! You can never have too much sidewall on the trail. That's what gives you the ability to go with low air pressure. I ran 315/75R16 and I could safely go to 10/12 lbs on a 9000 lb rig and get good bite everywhere. Lighten the load to a JK weight and go to 10 lbs ... life is good! With bead lockers you could probably take the 285s to 7/8 lbs! :mr-t:You can change your tire size, I've heard of some people going to 285/75R16s on the stock X rims. Personally, I wouldn't take it that far, that can lead to problems out on the trail, with too much sidewall, etc.
It's the other way around, too little sidewall is a problem when wheelin'.You can change your tire size, I've heard of some people going to 285/75R16s on the stock X rims. Personally, I wouldn't take it that far, that can lead to problems out on the trail, with too much sidewall, etc.

Yes, larger diameter tires will throw the speedo off. Your dealer can flash the computer to compensate for larger tires. This topic has helped me out also...my JK will be coming with the base 16's also. Here's a noob question: once you increase the diameter with larger tires I'm assuming (I know...I know) that the spedo will need adjustment?
