Was wondering if anyone around here has yet to purchase one of the WILDBOAR molded hard tops with the sunroofs. I have fallen in love with the look since first sight and think it will be the next purchase once i decide on the lift. Was wondering if anyone has gotton one and if so have you had any problems with it leaking. My stock OEM lets water in at wil and my dealerships lack of help and poor quality of workmanship has led me to thinking this may be the only way i will be able to save and salvage my interior before its to late. In all honesty my soft top works 20 times better but really enjoy the benefits of the hard one in the winter months.
Thanks as always guys!!!

Experiences with wildboar hardtop

Hi Blackjk08,
did you already get the wildboar hardtop? I`m also interested in getting one and would like to know what your experiences are with it so far.
Thanks and greetings,

I picked one up...the T-Top model. Here are my impressions...

1. I've not had a problem with it leaking and it's been through some heavy rains (a Florida hurricane last year).

2. I've got the Tuffy overhead center console. Due to this, I cannot install the securing clasp on the hardtop (console blocks this from being able to be done). The fix for this is to drill a hole through the hard top into the top of the windshield frame. This is no big deal...holes are drilled into the window frame for other aftermarket items (such as the channel for a bikini top).

3. This hard top blocks out just as much noise as the factory hard top.

4. The finish on my hard top isn't the best...is fading quickly for some reason. I've spoken with the company about this and they are taking care of it for me, which translates to good customer service.

5. Installation...very easy. The hard top doesn't weigh very much (although you still need 2 people), so it's not difficult to lift on and off. If I recall correctly there are 6 or 8 screws that attache the rear of the hard top to the rear portion of the Jeep. It attaches to the factory holes, so I didn't have to drill any. The T-Top sections come off and go on easily. The rear windshield wiper plugs in like the factory one did.

6. Design...very cool. I like the slanted back. I also like that the T-Top pieces allow the people in the rear seats to look up and see the sky as well (rather than just the front seat occupants).

7. Price...bit steep at $3500 plus shipping, so I imagine not everyone will pull the trigger for this, but I don't have any buyer's remorse. Shipping is expensive, so pick it up if you can.

Here are a few pictures. The last one is the most recent.

I will be ordering mine mid March. Thank you tax return. My only dilema in if I should go woth the double t top version or the sunroof version. The T Top is a bonus cause is pretty much easier than removing the whole freedom top and you still have that oh so sweet fastback look. However I do live in New England so havind a the fastback look w/ double electric sunroofs as well as a cloth/ possibly suede upgrade interior brings the the interior of our JK's to the next level. And on the + side you said its not that hard to remove so I can always throw the soft top or the freedom back on in the summer. So I know I buying 1......JUST DONT KNOW WHICH...ANY help would be appreciated...LOOKS SWEET BY THE WAY BRO

Photos are deleted?!

I wonder if they will make a two piece hard top like the besttop as I am not a big fan of the t-top
yeah, not sure what happened to Jason. He built a kickass jeep and ran a charity where it was going to be given away and the next thing i saw he was hurting for money and fell off the planet.

here is a pic from wildboars website of a 2 door

check out the website for more pics

That's my jeep. I had that hardtop for 8 months. ZERO problems! No leaks what so ever. As far as the paint fading, I actually painted that top with Duplicolor bedliner, as you can see in the pic, it looks factory.

This was the prototype top, & there were some upgrades done to the mold. It has been moved from Snugtop to Leer this year. The tops are 100% American made. I get my new "improved" version delivered next week. I'm really looking forward to it. I added the RockHard sportscage and decided not to go with the sunroof this time.

I've talked to the owner about becoming a sponsor over here, He is on Jeep forum I think.

I think that you can get the new top without the sunroofs for about what a factory hardtop costs.

I'll try to dig up some more pics of the top. I lost alot of them with my old computer.

The WildBoar top looks great, but their price is outrageous. The $3500 Jason listed for the T-Top is no longer accurate, they've raised the price by $2000. So $5500, but ontheir website they're having a special for only $4700, what a bargain. :shaking:

I'm wondering how they justify that kind of a price hike from their original price?

paid $4200 with it painted to match the steel blue JK.

no leaks, no extra wind noise (rock hard cage and it pushed my windshield out about 1/8th inch and the stock top did develop some nasty wind noise, with the t-top it went away)

instead of using the "T-handle" fasteners we used same hex bolts without the "T" and some washers. it was a bit of a pain to get the t-handles to line up and tighten down. the bolts and washers worked out better.

having the t-tops off it really feels like the top is off untill you glace in a rearview mirror. plenty of sun and wind in the hair.

wildboar has a disclaimer on their site that it does not paint the t-tops to match. they do when asked apon order and was $400 extra. remember on '07 and '08 your paint may have faded a little and the top will be a tad darker. but its hardly noticible on my steel blue JK. (the above pic the JK is dusty and the top was just installed)

its F'n cold here and it does keep the heat in better since the top is lined on the inside. i didnt notice any extra heat during the summer.

as for looks, it will get people to take a 2nd look or try to drive next too you longer so they can take a look at it or snap a pic. funny thing, my cousins and brother and his wife didnt notice the top until i mentioned it had been changed.
