I just read here that the JK's mileage is best when the rpms are kept between 2500 and 3000. Is this true? I typically keep mine between 2000 and 2500 and I get 17-18 mpg. Should I be revving higher? By the way, my Jeep (JKU) has 3.73, manual, and stock wheels. Thanks!

Mine seems to prefer around 2500rpm. I net better mileage at 75-80mph usually over 65-70mph. Mostly due to lugging the engine with my setup. I don't see how you plan on just "revving higher" without going faster, test it out.

I keep mine in my tachometer. It'd be confusing if I put them in the speedometer.

With the 6-speed, 4.88s, and 35s, she LOVES to be around 2600-2900. When I do drive her on the road, I keep her there and get the best "mileage". Plus, the engine feels better around that RPM. Any lower and she "bogs".

I can tell you where not to keep them lol... 12.8 mpg is the best so far with 35 inch km2. 6 speed no regear I keep it below 2500 almost all the time.

I think speed plays a big part too for a modded jeep. Jeeps are pretty much a rolling brick when it comes to aerodynamics, and I think anything over about 65 and the fuel mileage starts to drop off exponentially, especially when a lift, big tires, weight, and flat fenders/stubby front bumpers are introduced into the equations. I've calculated around 15-16mpg if I hold a constant 65 on the highway which is around 2900 RPM. But I have a 2dr with the 6-speed, 4.88's and 33's. Curious as to what mileage I'll get with 37's I'm thinking it's not going to change a ton as I'm a tad overgeared right now and that's what's hurting my mileage lol. I'd like to see 70mph at about 2700, I think that'd be about the perfect combo.
