Hi friends,

I'm new to the jeep scene. I'm putting 18" rims and 33" tires on tomorrow with a pro comp 2.5" lift on my JKU. I have 2" spacers do you think it's a good idea to use them. I don't do that much off roading as I live in the keys. Please let me know your thoughts rims are Fuel D546.

Does it look ok with wheel spacers or should I just skip them?

Red loctite. Torque to 100 foot pounds. You'll be fine.

As much as it pain me to say, he's correct. Use a high quality spacer. Stay safe down there, some nasty weather's coming.

I didn't mean to dissuade you from running them. Many here have great success with some of the top tier spacers on the market.

When you mentioned your lack of opportunities...It's hard to watch a masterpiece designed for mud, rock, snow, and water be reduced to street status. Then again, I understand your position.

I was under the Impression Florida had some excellent wheelin. Maybe I was wrong.

You can run spacers if the new rims lack the backspacing or you prefer stock. Some just buy a rim with the desired backspacing and eliminate the "middle man ".

Use them if you need them.

I'm debating using the 1.25" teraflex ones. 3.5" lift, 18x9 wheel with 4.5" backspace. STT Pro 37x13.5. Rubs the control arms.
The internet tells me I'm going to break my d30 on a pothole someday because of the 37s. I'm assuming the further I push the wheels out, the more stress it'll put on the Cs and ball joints. Is that something I should be concerned about?

We had an excellent post conversation about successes on an untrussed D44 awhile back. Consensus was anything over a 35 was not recommended. Another finding was many were commenting with little to no first hand experience.
Since I have a light 35 (MTR) on a gusseted d44with the minimum 4.5 backspacing, I'll refrain from giving advice.
I have heard that the 37 generally is too much outside traditional road use for the d30. A 37 owner will chime in soon enough.

It's my mall crawler rzr hauler. It'll never go anywhere I need to disconnect for or wouldn't be trying to pull my trailer through. I'll eventually do C gussets. Probably when I have to do ball joints. Or, when I decide I want some turning radius back and put spacers on.

I have been running them on my stock wheels just to give my JK a little wider stance. They have been on for about three years and not a single problem. I just lifted my JK and bought new tires and wheels and opted for wheels that should allow me to not have to run the adapters. With that being said I would have no problem running them again.
