Why do people black out their license plate number when they post pictures on this site?????? Seems to me when they drive around all day thousands of people get a look at the number just like they would on this site. Curiosity is killing me.

The simple answer is, they do it because it makes them feel better.

Regarding people seeing the plate on the street anyway, a lot more people, from all over the world, will see it on the internet. There is an increased likelihood someone will see it who has the means to trace it to the owner, for reasons the owner will not find helpful.
