2 door. The rear seat has been in my utility room for almost 6 years now. Full doors and hard-top have seen pretty much the same fate as well... although they're in the garage.

That's why mine's out. Spare, tool box, cooler, misc. stuff. Then when at camp site, I just remove all the stuff and blow up my mattress and doll and hit the hay.

Anybody have one mounted on something in the garage for a bench to sit on?

Hey Oscar, Are you talking about the single seat section that came in the back of my 4 door? There is a single seat section and a 2 person section. There is a funky bracket set-up on the bottom that would have to be modified for its at a pretty funky angle. It's for the "fold down" function of both sections of seats and gets in the way of allowing the bottom portion of the seat to sit flat on the floor. Its like a hinge bracket kind of thing.

Why do you guys buy 4dr JK's if you have no use or desire to use the back seat? I'm just curious really. I specifically bought the 4dr because of my kid. If it wasn't for him I'd have go with either a 2dr or an LJ.

Several reasons.
1 Don't like the short wheel base of the 2 door. Out west the 4 doors don't end up on their butt when climbing up waterfalls and rock faces. 2 doors have a tougher time climbing stuff because of short WB. They can't go where I can, I've seen it, they will flip over backwards.

2 The LJ has rear over hang and is the "old model", didn't want that.

3 When camping I can sleep in the back and haul around stuff for camping like wood when you go to the dunes.

4 I like the look of a 4 door when lifted more than a 2 door.

5 40's look better on a 4 door. :D

when you lay down the rear seat, it's not exactly flat, so I took it out, gave me more room and took out 100+ lb.s

No, when I sleep in it, I sleep with my head towards the back of the jeep. It's not bad. With the air mattress and a little something (usually use my fold up chair) under it, you don't notice the small drop down behind the 2 front seats at all.

On its end on permanent display in my garage.

My 4 door rear seat is still out and up for grabs.

I took my rear seats out about a year ago to help cut weight and make for better packing space on overnight or extended wheeling trips. I just built a little shelf behind the passenger side to hold my bigger cooler instead of putting it way up on the rear Rugged Ridge shelf (I think that's the model anyway).

I mounted my CO2 tank to the deck behind the drivers seat too. I sort of have a pretty nice little system now for packing and it has helped me to keep paring down the load to only the necessities which for me is a huge challenge. Lol

I have a 2011 and my seats are tan leather and in great shape. I'd love to sell them all (front and rear) to someone that wanted to upgrade to leather (fronts are heated too). Not sure what they are worth but I'd probably take $1200.00 for all of them if someone paid for shipping. I'm sure that's a pretty fair price for the leather seats...
