Ok thus is just for shits and giggles, eventually there will be brackets welded to the tire carrier to brace the #20 tank. The weight will always rest on the bumper and need to be removed whenever the rear is opened. But would the straps be fine? I tried standing on the bumper pulling up to see if it would slide out and that tank wouldn't budge. I would add another strap from the regulator guard down to another mounting point and ratchet it down in case of a roll-over.
Any thoughts, ideas, warnings would be greatly appreciated! Just in case your wondering the tank will only ever be mounted only on off-road excursion, with short freeway runs to the trails.
Thanks for the advice in advance!

I've seen what a 5 minute escape pack bottle can do the an extended cab s-10 and I WOULD NOT take any chances with a air tank or pressure vessel AT ALL.
It decimated the cab, blew ot the doors, made it a convertible and so on. And it was maybe 6-8"s in diameter by 10-12"s tall. Many people run around with never having an issue and I'm sure you will be fine. I was in an explosion that put me in the burn center for two months so I try to keep the BOOM scenarios to a minimum. Another thing is your rolling on pressure vessels. So it should be ok.

Things to be concerned about would be old nitrous bottles that retards used torches on to heat the tanks and bypassed regulators and so on.

A good utilization of space though! Bracket it up and go for it!

Just to be clear it's a CO2 bottle not a compressed scuba tank.

I think it's slick. Good use of available space and in a good location to where one hose can get to all four wheels. Should be fine back there if it is secured. Keep an eye on where it rubs.... over time may cause an issue.

What if I rig up a bastardization of hot water heater metal straps? Almost like a large fire extinguisher metal strap?

I think you need to replace your license plate with something that reads "RAIDERS":bounce::thefinger::bounce:

Hey Nanook it's all in good fun! :)
Anyways, just got back from about 30miles of fire roads and trails. Speeds of 0-40mph. The straps help up great and I went from 12psi to 35psi on 4 tires 35x12.5x15 in less than 5 minutes!! Awesome!! Now the tank comes off the Jeep and back onto the kegorater!! Happy 4th!!!
