Let me start with:
FUCK!!!!!!!!

My 2 year old replacement engine had failed me now! Two damn years old the fucking piece of shit the dumb fucks at Chrysler put in this jeep, has decided to quit. Well let's call the dealer and see the warranty for a short block.... 12 months? What the fuck? A certified mechanic put it in, and you don't expect it to last more than one fucking year!!! Damn you, fucking ass holes! And to make it better, I am in the middle of buying a house, so I can't even get a fucking loan for a damn replacement vehicle to use until I have the money to fix the jeep! Who wants to finally pull the trigger, and just hurt me so I can't even work anymore...

What is the point of staying in town now? I hate it here! And apparently the feeling is mutual!

Thanks for a place to vent, otherwise I don't know what would happen tomorrow!

P.S. FUCK YOU, YOU DAMN FUCKTARDS AT CHRYSLER ENGINEERING FOR A QUALITY PRODUCT!

I am constantly realizing that these days it is really hard to find people that do quality work never mind great work in every aspect of business. The term "Professional" seems to be just a title these days instead of quality workmanship.

Sorry to hear your news. That really sucks!

Ef, ride out the storm and get that damn house. Don't fuck around with financing either. 30yr fixed. Hang on to that JK too, unless you hate the thing. It'll work out. Awesome job of venting. I felt a little better after I read the bold text.

FYI, I think Chrysler is a P.O.S. company too.

Emphasis added.

Take it from someone who worked in foreclosure for the past three years. Know what I saw least often? the 30 year fixed. It was almost always these "interest only, soon to adjust to 500% of the prime rate after the first year and then once a week after that" kind of loans that got people in trouble.

30

YEAR

FIXED.

And shop the fuck out of at LEAST three lenders. One large bank like citi or Wells Fargo (PLEASE don't go with GMAC / Ally - let that fucking terminal patient continue their bankruptcy) one regional and one brokerage that can pull mulltiple rates from across the country.

No points, 30 year fixed =

Now just make sure your rate/fee on the estimate is locked in and can't change. Get it in writing which fees are locked and which fees can change.

The new good faith estimates are pretty hard to read when it comes to what can and can't change - this coming from a guy who's been in the mortgage industry since 2000. DEFINITELY bring that estimate to your settlement and compare notes between their estimate and actual figures at the settlement table. It can save you thousands, so don't move on until you're satisfied with any explanations for changes. YOU are the boss at that table, so make sure you take control and leave settlement happy. You would be amazed how many people just smile, nod, move on and lose thousands of dollars because they didn't understand something that was going on.

I had the original for 62k, took on mud some how... Dry air box, dip stick and tailpipe clean (no mud) had over a cup in the oil pan.
Replaced with ins at the time, covered while offroading on marked trail, and new motor is 23 months old. 12 month warranty sitting around 92k total...

In S FL, 250 miles south of Jeef Jeep yard, and getting one that far is ~ 150 freight.

Looking to probably get a tow pig/dd that can be reliable and push the jeep to the side, while saving for the 4bt from JJY.

LOOKING FOR: A 4 DR chassis cab or pick up with diesel engine and less than 150k miles. Priced under 10k. (Don't know how the hell I can pay for it, but I know once the house is done, I can take out 80% loan from my down payment.)

Just talked to Jeff and he is cutting me a good deal on a takeout...

Going to swap in my 3rd 3.8 into my JK this one is only until I can afford the 4bt.

Absolutely in agreement!!!

@ 70 000 km -> 4300$ warranty job by dealer to replace some rod and bearings on piston #6. 1 year warranty.

@ 107 000 km -> Exact same problem. Out of warranty. Out of repair warranty. Repairs are in the 4000$ range it seems. My mechanic buddy said just get a used engine and I'll put it in for 500$. Ended up with a 1500$ shipped, 75 000 km engine. (at least this engine pushed a stock JK for 75 000 km versus my original that pushed the 37's for 60 000...)

I'm now at 110 000 km and I hear this ticking noise I hate so much...
Piston #6 AGAIN??? :suicide:

I was thinking about this thread at lunch today and I have decided that if the 3.8 in my 2011 goes, I will be taking my Jeep to a local shop here in town that does Hemi swaps (Plum Floored Creations) and it will get a transplant. I won't bother with replacing the V6...

:jawdrop: We'll have to trade rigs for a day or two when I get to AZ. Hurry up and blow that mini-van engine Chris! I know it's bringing back bad memories of Jen's now gone mini-van and you're yearning for V8 power.
