Anybody use Underwood Ammo? Where you happy with it? Any problems with it?

I was planning on ordering some 200 grain hard cast in 10mm for four legged critters, and 180 grain jhp for two legged critters.

Good to hear. Have you ever used their 200 grain hard cast? I'm debating on whether to get a SS guide rod and heavier recoil spring (Glock 20).

Guns kind of scare me. I had a .22 single shot once, but I lost it in a tragic boating accident.

That said, 20# is good for higher pressure, heavier loads on a G20. Lone Wolf is the best place to buy all that stuff. Wouldn't hurt to pick up a new stock weight spring and a 22. They don't cost that much. Check out how the pistol is tossing the brass and your reliability. But 20 is a nice starting place for heavy, hot loads.

I have been looking at Underwood 10mm lately as well. I found a video online showing a Glock 20 catastrophic failure with Underwood ammo. After some communication back and forth with Underwood, they did some investigating, and Underwood determined the failure was as a result of a defect with a batch of third party projectiles (they were slightly undersized). Underwood paid for the guy's damaged firearm and claimed to begin adding laser projectile measurement to their production to prevent future issues.

Seems like a stand-up company to me.

Just ordered some 200 grn. hard cast from them myself. Hopefully I got enough to confirm function and accuracy while still leaving enough for a loaded mag or two. It's not too terribly expensive, all things considered.

Can't wait to try it out.

Didn't get to the outdoor range this weekend, so I didn't get to shoot the hard cast stuff, but, the Underwood 10mm 180gr bonded JHP's were noticeably warmer than the practice stuff. Should do well in defense against 2 legged threats.

I finally shot some of the 200 grn. hard cast today. Not as much recoil as I expected. Not unpleasant recoil at all (the Colt Delta Elite does have some weight to it, so that probably helps a bit). Totally reliable in the Delta Elite as well, though I didn't shoot very many rounds.

It does smoke quite a bit (as Underwood says it will, due to the high pressures burning the lube wax the bullet is coated with). Didn't bother me at all. I actually thought it was kinda cool, like shooting old-school black powder rounds. Didn't smell bad or anything, just a big puff of smoke with each shot. Seemed accurate and controllable.

Overall, I'm pleased. I actually had my chronograph with me, but my buddy was using it with his rifle. Would have been interesting to check velocities. Maybe next time.

Stock barrel? If so, did you notice any flyers or signs of tumbling? I've heard that some of the heavier, hard-cast bullets don't play well with the polygonal rifling in the Glocks. Might just be the stuff over 200grn.

Bone stock gun. I considered an upgraded recoil spring, but the man at Underwood said it wasn't needed, as they test their 10mm stuff with a stock G20, no problems.

No flyers, no tumbling, accuracy was good. A lot of smoke though. I gave the gun a good cleaning today. Barrel looks brand new.
