About a year ago when the tranny got hot and I stopped it didn't want to shift out of first. I had the tranny flushed and the problem went away.

Now it's back with a vengance. Also when tranny hot after highway driving at times I can smell something that smells exactly like a manual clutch burning.

Any ideas what that could be? Is it time to pitch the POS and look for a tranny / transfer case from a rubicon? My TJ is a 2001 with 76k miles on it.
Thanks!

So I take it in and it turns out to be the catalytic converter smelling.
Anyone heard of the converter not letting enough pressure through to stop shifting out of first? Woudn't that blow it up?
Oh well better than a tranny swap.

I have dealt with some instances where the vehicle had no power and felt like trsnny was slipping or the vehicle would only go 30 mph. Turned out the cat was clogged. It happens:smokin:
