I've got an 08 4 door automatic running 33's getting around 15 mpg if I baby it. I want to move up to 35's. its my daily driver and I needed to keep the mileage up. What are y'all running with 35's?

Do you have the towing package? If you do then you are probably running 3.73 right now. If you move to 35's I would do 4.10, def with an auto...

I have 3.73s now. People have told me 4.56, 4.88 or 5.13 would be my best bet.

'10 automatic JKU w/ 35s. Regeared from 4.10 to 5.13. Highway mileage, as long as I keep it around 65, has been up to 19.8 MPG (computer calculated). 70+ and it starts to drop pretty noticeably. It's so nice that the transmission doesn't downshift nearly as much as it used to! It's also nice to have acceleration power back w/o a Superchips custom tune. :)

If you search thru the other regear threads, virtually everyone with an automatic that did 4.88 (I've never seen one from someone who did less than 4.88) wishes they did 5.13 (or 5.38, if they have a D44 up front).

Remember that gear recommendations are different between standard and automatic transmissions. When you read other threads, you have to pay attention to what the OP says, and what the replies are. If you see a reply really out of whack with the rest, they're probably talk about the other transmissions.

I think dude's smokin his socks or something. Anything less than 4.88s would be a complete waste of money on an Unlimited auto with 35s. I went 5.38s but mostly because of my elevation. (6400ft)

another thing to think about is the weight of a 4 door over a 2 door. im running a "small" 35" tire with 5.13s at 65-70mph i get around 17-18mpg calculated by hand. i have the aev procal and have recalibrated for the tires and gears.

i would recommend 5.13s over the 4.88s. its kinda like the whole 33 vs 35 debate. if your even considering the 35" you will be kicking yourself in 2 months for not going bigger. same thing with the 4.88s. do it right and get the 5.13s

I just ordered 4.88's. I have 35's so I am hoping I will be ok. Mine came with 4.10's so there will be a little difference.

32's/4.10 = 2080 RPMS at 70 MPH
35's/4.10 = 1902 RPMS at 70 MPH
35's/4.88 = 2264 RPMS at 70 MPH

4.88s on 35's should bump your RPMs up towards where the JK engine starts to product some power. :)

I'm running 5.13s, which only make 116 more RPMs at 70 MPH. I honestly don't know what the difference feels like between the two (4.88 and 5.13), but compared to 4.10, I think you'll really like the 4.88's!!
