Hi folks!

I have a set of 35" Trail Grapplers and with winter coming up I was thinking their on-road performance might be increased by siping those giant blocks of rubber that make up the read.

The MTRs and even Mud Grapplers have a lot more siping than the trail grapplers which, in reality, have basically none.

Has anyone else done this? Any pros or cons? Or am I just misinformed?

I was wondering the same thing. The Trail Grapplers actually have some siping compared to the stock KM's but more would be nice. Hopefully someone who knows a thing or two can chime in.

If you are planning to run a set of MT tires this winter siping them will certainly help improve their winter traction. The extra biting edges really help the tire grip to the slippery surface.

If any of your are planning to purchase new tires before the winter, we do offer a siping service for $10.00 per tire.

If your tires aren't ready to be replaced and you'd like to have them siped locally. Please contact one of your local Discount Tire stores. Many of our stores in colder regions can sipe your tires for you for a small fee. www.tires.com for a store locator.
