Has anyone here replaced their TIPM? If so what were the symptoms?

Replaced mine, twice. The first time I had various issues. The second time (shortly after the first time) my Jeep simply died while I was driving. The procedure is easy enough (I think Dr. Dirty did write up on the board here) but you will need to have a dealership flash it after the new one is installed.

This didn't work for you?:

Removing and installing the same or new TIPM will not require dealer programming if the CCN and PCM are installed and operating properly.
I don't know if this applies to a used TIPM from another vehicle.

TIPM Installation:

1. Position the TIPM into the engine compartment.
2. Connect each of the seven TIPM wire harness connectors.
3. Position the TIPM onto the mounting bracket and push down until the mounting clips are fully seated.
4. Position the TIPM positive cable onto the mounting stud and install the retaining nut. Tighten the nut to 80 - 100 in. lbs.
5. Open the TIPM cover and fully seat the Airbag fuse holder (two fuses in one yellow carrier) and the Ignition Off Draw (IOD) fuse.
6. Connect the battery negative cable.
7. Close the hood.
8. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the “RUN” position and wait twelve seconds. The TIPM will collect the necessary vehicle configuration and VIN data from the CCN and PCM at this time. After twelve seconds turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position and then back to the “ON” position and verify proper vehicle systems operation.
If the information was lost or corrupted, it can be retrieved with the StarScan tool through DealerConnect.

Everything worked except my A/C and speedometer. I don't know what the issue was but every now and then my Jeep does weird things. (ex: While towing my pop-up camper, my Jeep's lights will dim and I will loose power and not be able to exceed 45mph after about 1 hour to 1.5 hours of driving.) I suspect there is a component in the system that is still damaged.

About a month or two ago I would go out to the heap and get in to start it and it would give just a click and nothing not like a dead battery or faulty starter,of course I tried jumping it no luck.Sometimes cycling the key would wake it back up sometimes discharging the system would wake it up.A Jeep tech friend of mine said he thought it was a WCM (wireless control module).He replaced that for me two weeks ago, but it started again.:pissed::pissed:

there are numerous threads on random starting issues related to the "click"

usually replacing the battery will help somewhat

if its an auto trans, try rowing the shifter down back into park next time.

whenever mine fails to start, that fixes it every time.

So it has done it to me a few times and every time it has done I now cycle the shifter (auto) and it starts.I wonder if the inhibitor switch is failing.

I had the TIPM go out on my dodge truck and the speedo jumped around, the truck cut in and out, dash lights flickered. Weird.
