I've had my eye on some LED lighting for years now, even before I got my JK. It's no secret that I've spent gobs of $ on building this thing up, but I haven't spent anything on lighting so far. I've spent negligible amounts on what I'd call "cosmetic" mods. Most all of my mods have been something that's functional.

Anyway, I've been trying to sell my TeraFlex 3" lift that I took off to do my long arm and coilover upgrades and when curbsjeep offered me a 10" Specter and cash for my TF arms, I jumped on it.

I pulled the + & - wires out of the relay plug and I'll run them right into the sPOD. I don't have it hard wired yet, but I went out after dark to test it out and see just how bright these things really are and I have to say I'm definitely impressed.

I just might have to get a 50" later...

All in due time. I might get it up tonight. Otherwise, it'll probably be tomorrow.

I pulled the +/- wires out of the relay plug and I'm going to run it right into the sPOD so all I gotta do is drill a hole or two on the bumper and mount it, then run two wires to the sPOD and it'll be good.

Get some cool night shots. Dude as high as you're cruising now I'd hate to be in front of you when you throw the switch!

Yeah, we can really make something out in that pic other than a BRIGHT LIGHT, Brian. :D

Anyway, I got my light hooked up, but now when the light is on, I can't pick up any radio stations. Hmmm....

What the heck could that mean?

I switch the light on... nothing but static on all stations.

I switch the light off... normal. Hmmm...

I should hook something up to the AUX input to see if that's affected, too, huh...

Night pics to follow as soon as, well, as soon as it's night.

Hey Brian
Call rigid about the interference with the radio they have a fix for that but you will have to send the light in for repair.

Rigid Industries: Great Support!

Just a quick note to say that Rigid Industries has a well deserved reputation for being customer friendly.

My new 50" SR died a short while after installation and they got a new one out overnight (to Rebel). Actually, this has as much to do with Rebel Off Road's great service, too! Rebel got it to me by FedEx.

Anyhow, I've only had the one issue, but I think it's like anything with solid-state components -- once you are past the initial period that reveals manufacturing defects, you can expect a very long service period. Based on apparent build quality and what is on "paper" with Rigid, this will be especially true.

For anyone wondering about the 50", it is absolutely amazing. I'm only running the Single Row variety, but it's listed at 16K lumens! My D2s, Duallys, and 10" bar nicely fill the near-field void before the 50" does its magic starting about 50' out. I chose the "hybrid". It's obvious that the center elements are spot beams, the sides are a 20 deg flood.

For comparison, I recently saw a Chinese knockoff. You get what you pay for! :)

Yeah, I've got my eye on that 50", but it'll be a while before I can justify that. I don't do enough night wheeling to need it.

I will probably add a set of Duallys on the edges of my front bumper to compliment the 10".

Are the D2's really worth the extra money over the "regular" duallys?

Yes.

I started off with a pair of Dually pods to replace my factory fog light function. If you have them as a spot driving beam, that works. But as a flood pattern, the glare is too much to use for ordinary driving. If you aim them down a few degrees, that may work too. For now, I just treat them like high-beams.

I added the 10" E-Series bar (dual row) for additional low/flood lighting and that was an appreciable gain. But adding the D2s was a major change as a spot driving beam! I really would not want to give up any of my lights at this point. It's nice to finally have enough lights at speed.

Cyalis or viagra? I'm sure your woman is thrilled by this news. Now get offline and show her you care.

OR you could get your ass into that garage and wire em up. They're EEEEEEEEEASY to install. I should know. :smokin:

The duallys WILL interfere with your reception because of the RF interference they create. From what I've heard the only way to even mitigate this is to use completely shielded wires, but I don't think that will completely resolve the issue.

AFIK, this will never go away completely.
