I installed my 5" skyjacker kit with 2" spacers, both trackbar brackets and extra supports, everything is tight as hell.... BUT seems like when i slightly turn left at a certain speed the dreaded death wobble comes into play.

Everythings tight, i do have the "stock" steering stablizer on... could that be the issue?

any advice is appreciated.

It's definitely not the stabilizer.

Did you adjust the caster angle?

Adjustable track-bars?

No, just the relocation brackets.

Picture of the front end would help. Look and see that your front track-bar and draglink are parallel with each other. If not, that could be the problem. Not familiar w/ the Skyjacker. Does the front/ rear track-bar relocate the track-bar higher than stock location? I would guess that you need adj track-bars w/ a 5" lift.

Ill grab one tomorrow, yes it lifts it higher.

I replaced my entire skyjacker pieces with poly performance and put in a high steer kit by the same company. I did have those problems until I installed the steer kit. My wobble was so bad it ripped the trackbar bracket right off the axle.

pricey, but maybe the way to go. It does it like once every 2 days.

Hate to say, but I have also heard of stories of the relocation brkt getting ripped off with the skyjacker kit.

Assuming you have already done an alignment since the lift(?). Still think if you are going to keep the Skyjacker, to look into adj track-bars (front & rear). Not sure. Poly Performance is a good bet as mentioned before, but who can afford to do a lift, then scrap it and get another one?

is it a long arm? why would you do that.........do you likerolling over?

overcompensating for something? :thefinger:

FWIW...

I ran the 5" skyjacker kit from February of last year until September and NEVER had a single wobble of any sorts. I was actually very happy w/ the kit and would have kept it forever had a LA kit not forced me to buy it at a cheap price.

Granted, I didnt ahve the addtional 2" on it. Had quite a front rake though.

Good luck w/ your issue.

I heard that initially as well. But I know that after bad feedback, they added a REAR trackbar relocation brace that attached to the rear differential. I have that on my kit (still sitting in my garage). Never heard any horror stories up front, but it wouldnt shock me. Everyone has a horror story about everything.

Stub has it right, check the difference in angle between the drag link a trackbar; the mild bumpsteer usually triggers the event. The extra rubber between the rim and the road doesn't help, and If you didn't install adjustable control arms the problem will be unrecoverable until stopped; because the caster/camber is off. The Early Bronco guy's have this down to a science.

Seriously?? mallcrawler?! I have never been called that in my life. Pretty funny though.

I went with the skyjacker 5" and 2" spacers because Im going to be running 40's when my 37's wear out. The kit is short arm, but Im building a custom 4 link long arm kit with hydro assist as soon as the funds allow.

i , for the life of me , couldent figure out why anyone would want that much lift on a jeep...

now i know...for mud......

big tall rigs dont work so good on the rocks........low cog is a good thing

just so you know, with that much lift, you have about 0 degrees of caster flighty steering and death woble is the result

and im not talking out my ass, my wifes 2 dr has 8in of lift via rockkrawler springs...great for mud running but scary ass hell everywhere else

mines a bit more stable....40's with 2inches of lift

I dont do many rocks and when i do its to get onto another part of the trail. What you dont realize is lift is ok when done right. A shock with 2" uptravel and say 10" down travel is going to save you from rolling over 90% of the time. It does flex nicley for a SA kit, but I cant wait till my brink LA system is done.

Either way, death wobble is slight and happens rarely. Im thinking another balance and a beefier steering stablizer will fix... at least will try heres the best pic of the front i can find.

Ahhh yes there are issues....it's called top heavy......trust me it is very easy to roll over.

This is why my lift is coming off......I am going with a 3" lift and pulling off my fenders and adding 37's.

BTW: I have not had any problems with death wobble or my stabilizer, only problems I have is fallin over!

Convict- Probably already aware, but a beefier stabilizer is only going to mask the possible issues you have now as well as down the road. I would hold off with that, as many JK's are running stock damper and have 37" + tires with no sign of death wobble (or related issues). Not saying I wouldn't add one in the future, but best to figure out the issue rather than cover it up. jmo
