Tera Disco Bushings Wore

The guy that did my Alignment today grabbed my Disco's and said the Bushings are wore & very loose. He said no problem but will probably make some noise. Can I just get bushing for replacements or do I have to go to Teraflex. Got about 18K on these Disco's......

I was just looking in the Tera catalog and while they show a seperate part no. for FlexArm replacement bushings, I don't see anything for the disco bushings. I'd call them.

Thx Skibum,...that's a what I'll do,..gotta get them, my stock ones are to short with the 2 1/2" lift. I oughta try the stock bushings on Tera Pins & see if they fit, if so, I press them in. Plus I think Disco's make one of the biggest enhancement/advantages with the JK, boy can you plant those tires at all times on the Rocks. Then if your stock with no lockers the BLD will work just fine.

Now that I've talked the wife out of a winch, and rocksliders may be on the horizon, discos are the next thing. Let me know if Teraflex coughs up a new set of bushings under warranty (they should after that few miles). The answer will help me make a decision as to who gets my limited money.

Skibum, just got off the phone with Teraflex, spoke to Doug & he said if you don't pull the Sleeve out of the Bushing & grease inside there they tend to wear out quicker. I told him that I grease mine all the time & he said very little grease gets in there. He's shipping the Bushing today & cost $12..........He did say he has them on his GC & had to do the same thing, he said grease them up, put the Bushing in the eye sideways then turn them in proper position.

That's pretty close to the right answer. I'd heard from a variety of people that they were pretty good to deal with. Glad they hooked you up. Next time I have some cash that the boss (read wife) doesn't know about, these will be on my Jeep.

Ya, they were great with me, also I didn't mention, he said I could give the part# & I could order myself from a vendor but he saved me all that time & shipped direct from Teraflex.

She's already on to me. Wheels, tires, front bumper, winch, lights, CB and antenna, steering stabilizer relocation bracket, sliders, fire extinguisher plus all the little stuff. Her sense of humor is completely gone at this point. I'm taking her to Nova Scotia for eight days to celebrate our 25th anniversary next month so hopefully her mood will improve.

Wow, my older daughter will be 25 this year. And I thought I was old.......

Ya, I'm old, but a young 59....proud of my little 6'2" little boy, at 13 he flew in a little Cessna(pay to ride) & never stopped flying after that ride. He broke the bank at Dad's house getting thru all his ratings. A lot of Hotdog meals. Extremely proud of him.> the rest is history, he's a Captan on this for CitationShares(been there 6 yrs.

Well, finally received the Tera Disco Bushings, FedX had lost them & Tera sent me a new set ASAP,.... A little tricky installing them, removing the old bushings was with my Vice, had a little piece of wood with a perfect size hole to match the outside link bushing area, & pushed out with using a socket a dab smaller than the Bushing. It pushed out into the hole in the piece of wood. Now comes the install, they are like a donut,(inner hole on link is concave) so you can't just push them in, the trick the guy at Tera said, turn bushing sideways, hole facing left & right(horizontal) & squeeze it a little in Vice, then holding Link in your hand, push (Greased) open link hole onto the bushing(release Vice).. Then I re-used the piece of wood & socket to push in further(push with socket on bulged end of Bushing). Now you'll have 1/8 of Bushing Hole showing(up & down) in the Link end, so put a screw driver in the Bushing hole and rotate bushing(swevel it) & you'll feel it pop right in....now bushing hole is in proper left to right Bolt position with Link opening. I see why greasing them with a zerk isn't so great for getting into inner bushing area, the hole in bushing is so tiny it's best to just remove once a year & do it right. My little bit of noise is gone now.
