I was wondering how long should it take for the dealer to replace the TC in a jk . reason why i ask is because i had mine replace for shudder problem.
jk was at dealership from 7:00 am till 5:00pm . they called at 4:30 to say that it was ready. was that enough time to replace TC?:pissed:

Hi Robert........according to the TSB, replacement should take a little over 5 hours. Since manufacturers are typically stingy with warranty dollars, I'd be surprised if this is adequate to cover the actual hours a dealer expends. And, if it's the dealer's first JK TC replacement there's the whole "learning curve" issue. In short, I'd be surprised if it could be done right in one day. Just my .02 :)
If you have a guy that is real good and doesn't run into any issues, one long day should do it. If he jacks up the exhaust bolts, because they are really crappy to get at, or doesn't have the latest software or you forget to get all the skids out of the way for him like I did it will take a couple of days. Getting everything apart/back together was kind of a pain. My dealer let me walk in anytime I wanted to check so I saw most of the process. Make sure they rehooked up the breather tube that looked like a tough one and check the exhaust bolts next to the tranny.

Are you referring to the breather for the transmission/ transfer case? If so, do you know where the open end is located? I have been interested in seeing if it would benefit by being raised to a higher location or not, but haven't been able to find it so far. I have the factory service manual and can't find any reference to it there.

Thanks!
Sorry I don't know were it terminates I just got to see the bottom side while standing under the vehicle. They were very good about letting me be nosey and check in all the time so I just concentrated on the TC change out and that immediate stuff. I wanted to hang around and investigate everyting but didn't want to wear out my welcome. Also I was sneaking over there on work time between service calls so my time was a little tight. LOL
