Hi,

I currently have 35 MT atz and would like to jump to 37.
My jk is a daily driver, occasional offroad and few highway trips.
Living in South Florida, I need some good tires for the heavy summer rain.
I was looking on the Trxus MT but it looks like they have balancing issues, mostly at higher speed. As I told in the title I do have 16 rims, wich limit my choices.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

BGF KM2's 345/75/16 or 365/75/16 I run the 345's. New they measured out 36.5. They are awesome for a DD/Trail rig. I currently have 30k on mine and their a little over half way gone.

I am currently in the same boat boss. The KM2 is up there for us as JK Vick has. There is also 325/80R16 in the Falken Wildpeaks, Copper Discoverer STT, and the Procomp Xterrain. The Nitto Mud Grappler comes in 38's for 16's but they are going to discontinue that model so they may be few and far between.

Pitbull lists a 37x12.50R16 for it's Rocker but I don't know if it exists. Next up they have a 38.5x13.50R16.

A fellow Jeeper in my neighborhood (we installed his lift, wheels & tires, etc.) has the Falken Wildpeaks and so far he really likes them. If you're only doing light wheeling and mostly daily driver duty, they would probably be a viable option for 16" wheels.

I think some guys that run them will disagree that they are for “light” wheeling. They seem to perform in every real world off road review I have seen on JK-F and here, Jeepnick is one of them.

However I am still concerned with the less aggressive look they have and the issue with mud, although some say they perform good in mud too. If Pitbull released the 37x12.50R16 Rocker tomorrow, I would own them the following day.

I am leaning towards the 325/80R16 Cooper Discoverer STT though. If I can find it in stock anywhere.

I'm getting the 38.5 Pit bull mad dogs when its time to ditch the 35s.

I'm just debating keeping my 16s or going with 15" beadlocks. I'm sick of blowing beads

Are you worried about grenading your shafts or R&P with them? You running any axle reinforcement? I am gusseted and sleeved but worry about demolishing my 5.13's on a locked axle turning 38.5's. I would prefer them however.

One thing to keep in mind, alot of the 37+ 16's are metric sized and really wide. Some are 14.50's and up.
I think Pitbulls are 38.5x13.50R16

I will order the new tires tomorrow here are the finalists (remember that I have 16" rims, so options are limited):

Toyo open country MT, size 385x70R16D (38x15.00), no 37 available on 16 rims, a little big and wide...

Super Swamper M16, size 37x13.50R16E

Pitbull Maddog, size 38.5x1350R16LT/E, probably too large...

I want an Mud tire with good performance in the rain

M16 gets my vote! Aggressive but also good highway manners and good milage wear.

My shafts are cromo, so i am not super worried there. The R&P will become my weak point if I get the 38.5s...but then again so will the u joints (hopefully). i wheel often, but I wheel carefully so i am not so sure if the 38.5s will destroy me quickly or not. no doubt it'll be lot more stress on the 30, but so far my 30 has been treating me really well. I am more worried about whether my steering box will hold up...definitely considering tapping the stocker and adding hydro assist at that point
