Just ran my Jeep through a Car Wash. When the car wash attended came and got me told me my Jeep was ready. I went to start it and it would do nothing but all the lights would light up on the dash. Couldn’t even get it out of park. When I removed the keys from the ignition it would just do the ding ding sound very fast. The key fob would not lock or unlock the doors. The Jeep has about 7500 miles on it I called the service department at the dealership and he told me to unhook the battery for 5 minutes so the system would reset. I did and it started right up.

What is up with that? Anyone else ever had this happen?

I agree with the above poster, something under the hood must have gotten wet that shouldn't have...

Prozack is correct. I've seen several people jeeps do that while we were wheeling even when it was dry. Disconnecting the battery for a short time is a good place to start. My TIPM ended up being replaced a few months ago because the jeep wouldn't turn off. IT would start and run fine, but had to put it in fourth and drop the clutch to get the motor to stop. Good times. :shaking:

Or, it could be the static issue.

Has happened to me five times, once in the middle of the desert - about a 6 hour walk to the nearest human.

A static discharge into the lock mechanism can cause the engine not to crank, and just lights coming on, not even trying to turn over.

Generally speaking, for me, it's gone away after about 10 minutes.

There's a TSB for it, here: http://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4276
