Minus 20 F/ Here this morning soon as I can get the chill off the Garage I'm going to look to see if the Stop Light Switch is DOA.....if it's fine then maybe search around in JSCAN to see if anything is messed up....
Appreciate the thoughts...
Thanks

Well, I'm still fighting with the NO Stop Lights dilemma. Managed to get the Stop Light Switch out today and it seems fine. I did find a YouTube about the JK Stop Light Switch being sticky in the "ON" position...That is the opposite of what I'm dealing with. Studying the JK Wiring diagram it is amazing how involved the Electronic Control Module is in the wiring maze for the Stop Lights.
I am still searching for feasible fixes for this issue. I have checked connector connections and associated ground connections. I think I will try and ECU Reset or two via JSCAN.....Any ideas very much appreciated.

The electrical ground is one of the things you should also check if the taillights are working and brake lights are not. This could be the possible issue, especially when the brake light switch is functional. Check for bad electrical ground which may be a result of corroded or damaged wires.

Well, I have done a full week of troubleshooting and searching and mostly scratching my head......No Stop Lights after replacing the Stop Light Switch......kept digging for what seemed like forever checking connectors and pinouts and on and on. I cleaned and tightened grounds everywhere and low and behold I found ONE loose ground wire and WAA LAA...or something like.... that I have brake lights AGAIN!!!!
Thank you to a great FORUM.....we did it together!!!!

The bottom line was a faulty ground connection. Took way too long to find the culprit but.. fixed the ground connection and I have Stop lights after checking everything imaginable. The JSCAN DTC's did help isolated the problem. Followed the Jeep manual for trouble shooting Codes.
Thanks ALL.
