How do you remove the ball from the shifter? does it just screw off? or do you have to remove the actual top of if then screw it off?

I don't know how they do 'em now, but on one of my old jeeps, you used to have to remove the top where the shift pattern is and there was a screw or nut under the cover if I remember correctly that you removed and then I think it unscrewed, but its been so long I can't remember the specifics.....i know, not much help.....

I'm curious about this as well. I have a custom T-handle I had made for my Vette, but I am selling the Vette and would like to move it over to the JK.

grab firmly and pull...should slide off according to an ad i saw somewhere for a set of machined billet knobs....Says "Grab Hold Firmly and Pull!!!" and then says to just slide the new ones on.

I tried that with success thanks.. its not even a screw type almost punched myself in the face but its all good lolol.. like you said grab and pull
