Starter out at 52k miles?

Starter just shit the bed while I was on a beer run. At least I had something to do in the parking lot waiting for a ride.

So it went out at 52k miles, and it's not covered under the 100k powertrain warranty.

Is this a normal thing? Seems pretty lousy. The starters on my other two cars that have 120k+ on them are original...

Welcome to the World of Chrysler-Fiat .
Couldn't be any worse than General Motors belief in Planned Obsolescence .

Starters , Alternators and Ignition Switches .

At least the aftermarket has taken the lead in some of the effected components , unfortunately not in the case of the JK starter yet that i'm aware of .

Alternators are another thing the after market is lacking in as well. Had to pony up almost 4 bills for one a little over a year ago about a month before I traded the 07 in for the 14.
