Question - Is the Gulf a Mexico an Ocean?

From Answers.com From Answers.com - Question is the Gulf of Mexico considered an Ocean? ANSWER:It is a gulf by title, but part of the Atlantic ocean. It is a gulf because it is Semi-surrounded by land on more than one side.

Gulfs are parts of larger bodies of water. ie seas or oceans

like the gulf of Sidra and the famous "line of death" is part of the Mediterranean Sea.

Well as I said on Facebook it has waves, is as far as I can see at least from the 19th floor, is a habitat for sharks and damnit if it can spawn a hurricane its an Ocean to me!

Agreed. If you can catch a Tiger Shark from the shore or if you swim and they can get close enough to bite your leg off, it is an Ocean!

The Gulf of Mexico is a.............. you got it, a Gulf.
