Not to be argumentative, just for general information, is there a link to someone's practical experience with these lifts? I don't have one and I don't want one, but just for clarity on the issue.
Seems pretty clear and cosnistent to me.

No argument that there is a consensus, however, what that consensus is built on is what I'm looking for. Are their springs poor in design? Do they use poor joints? Is their customer service lacking? Is the overall engineering substandard?These are questions that should be addressed. If they have been addressed, where is that thread? That's more or less what I'm asking for, and again, just for clarity.

Bigworm36 had a rusty's lift on for less than a year and the fucking joints were falling apart. I don't think he even wheeled it once with a rusty's lift. Switched him over to Rockkrawler and no problems at all.

Editorial comment. Where suspensions are concerned you get what you pay for. Companys like Rock Krawler, Teraflex, Currie, etc. have good reps because they make good products. RC, etc. have bad reps because they make not so good products. Where lifts, tires, wheels, brakes, steering, etc are concerned, not a place to save money buying cheap.

Tremendous jump in quality I would think, but is that the main problem with them, their joints?

And is this an isolated incident or have other experienced the same issue? I've gone back now 4 pages worth of "Rusty's Lift Kits" search's and this issue is referenced, but never really explained. Can anyone chime in on why their joints are such trash?

Video showed that arm looked like shit, at best. I don't get the way it was bent either?? Looked like it was designed that way? Poor.

However, it seems like the whole crux of the argument is that the joints they use suck, but if you got their springs (soft apparently) and someone else joints, you could have a decent set up.

I don't want a "decent" set up. And I'd rather not have a frankenlift. With so many great options out there, why would anyone take a chance?

I'm just playing devils advocate here. Rusty's has a really bad name around here. If were going to sway people away from one brand or another we should at least be able to point to valid reasons why. First hand experience has certainly been documented here.

As to the word "decent," I was simply using ambiguous language.

there are a lot of people running mixed brand products in their lifts and they work great. I've got MC, Tera, Full Traction, Poly Perf...

I had Rusty's front LCAs on for 4 years. The last year and a half I noticed worn bushings, but kept them until I could order the Metal Cloak ones. For me, they were what I expected them to be. They flexed as well as any short arm with a stock busing on one end and Johnny Joint on the other. They were beefy as hell too.

I have no experience with their springs or other lift components.

not saying Rusty's is great, but their Fr LCA worked as expected for me... but the MC ones are bad ass if you can afford them. I will be changing out all my CA's to MC ones as money permits.

I kind of thought those would be the replies I'd get. :shitstorm:

My first choice is RK. Please correct me if I'm wrong but running 35's with stock fenders The 3.5 lift would be a good choice over the 2.5? I know a 2.5 kit and 35's with flats is the way to go..

Rusty's earned their bad reputation. JK's weren't even in production when I removed them as an option. Product quality aside, Their customer service is a joke, they are liars, and are not capable of shipping orders.

They aren't even worth a second thought.
