I started tearing into my '07 JK preparing to bedline the interior. Underneath the floorboard sound deadening "goop" was some pretty serious rust damage. Unfortunately I have no experience in body work. What is the best way to go about fixing this before I spray?

I am able to weld but I've never worked with sheet metal before, so I'm a tad nervous.

POR-15 is an excellent product. I used it inside my Harley tank. Lots of steps but worth the time. Another fix would be to apply a product such as Extend which will stop the corrosion and then fill in the holes with JB Weld. If your prefer, do the previous and then cut a CS plate that over rides the corroded area by a half inch or so and lay down a filet weld with your choice of weld technique. I would MIG it having tested for burn through prior to the actual filet weld. Hope this helps. Good luck.:gluging:
