First picture was last summer. Rubi was a blast and very capable but we decided to build something over the top and one of a kind; Especially after counting 6 other Red Rock 4 doors on black rims in Boise!

This will be the showcase if/when we decide to open up a small shop. All the work was performed by me with the exception of the gear install.
Contemplating being a vendor for certain parts as well. More pictures to follow...

Nice, you really don't see too many JK8's around. Always liked them but couldn't do that to my JKU I have too many kids, lol

You have a lot of shaft showing on your rear shocks. You would probably benefit from some evo rockstars or synergy adjustable lower mount might gain some suspension travel that way.

Thank you! She will be going up on the tester again soon to determine shock length vs flex. On my short list but work and side business keeps getting in the way :wink2:

Looks killer man!! Thanks for letting us be a part of it!
Thanks Vick!!!! Standard sliders are ordered. Cannot wait to clear coat those and weld on. >:) Your bumpers are one of the most talked about additions everywhere I go.

Top conversations:
1. JK-8 kit
2. clear coat VKS bumpers
3. Armored paint

Jeep Wave from a fellow converter!

Love the custom tailgate! Was high on my considerations list.
Nice job! Looks cool

Tailgate was a killer! I stopped counting after 100 hours of labor. I tried to talk River Raider into building me one but my bidding stopped at $2500 which he was still hesitant due to his labor hours and wouldn't make any money...now I fully understand. Hard to get it right but I'm happy with the results. A few guys have already asked me to build more.

Funny to watch people think about it and realize this isn't stock Jeep :nerd:

That's a big number ... bigger than I got from the shop that's building mine. Was that quote just for the tailgate or include the bodywork to remove the old JK hinges? Is that a whole new tailgate or just piece in the CJ tailgate into the JK one? What did you use for latches to hold it closed? You got a picture of it open?

That was just for the tailgate; but it had internal latches and all aluminium.

I ended up using a CJ-8 center and frenched it into the JK frame, reworked the inner frame, and skinned the inside so it was flat. Then I used the CJ cables, latches, and hinges. I still need to sandblast and powder coat the latches but here are a couple pics.

Thank you sir for the reply. Looks good.

I'm easin' on down the same road 'cept the latches. Since I've got the back hatch on my top ... my latches have to be accessible from the outside.

I love it.
I've been looking for a cheap cj tail gate for awhile now to do this. I didn't expect anywhere near 100+ hours would be in it, although time does add up fast. I'll more than likely end up half-assing it anyway as I get add and move on too frequently, lol.

LOL Chuck! So do I. It took me a couple trys to get it where I wanted it to be. Next time I think it would only take a week to get it right. I'd get mad at put it away for a while, or something on Northridge4x4/VKS/MetalCloak would get my attention ;)
