I am doing some long term planning and would eventually like to add a rear bumper/tire swing that will open with the gate . . .ie not having to open it separately everything i needed to get it. I know there is at least one around here does this.(if I remember correctly pretty badass that with a 40 on it it was still very easy to open/close)

My question is are there any others? . .or are there any mod's that I can do to make it so I only have to pull a pin and open the gate or something . . . I just dont like the idea of having two swinging elements and would like a seemless stock like operation.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you good sir

i made my own using a smittybilt rear bumper, ExpeditionOne tailgate plate and some bushings i found on ebay. I also have a new latch that i havent install yet.

so far its been working pretty good. its very stable and solid. i like the ideal that the tire carrier has its own latch and isnt relying on factory tailgate latch to keep it from swinging open.

Yeah I deserved that. Good luck with this. Personally I like the shrockworks with the double open system. :beer:s 2 you!

I have the shrockworks "system" and every now and then it freaking sucks. specially when its raining, two its raining and your hand slips trying to latch it and you hit the bracket or something else. nice bumper, I would like to find a way to intergrate it with the tailgate, one day...

With tire carriers that are tied into the tailgate, I'd be worried about them bending the tailgate if you back into something like a tree or rock. The tire just pushes straight back into the tailgate.
I backed into a tree with my Expedition One rear bumper and it did nothing to the tailgate.
