does the rubi and non-rubi rear 44 use the same axle seal? I can only find one part number and it doesn't specify which axle. I'm assuming they're the same, but would like to know before I order them.

The axle shafts are different, but as far as I can tell, all the parts that go on them are the same.

(I guess I haven't told you anything you didn't already think.)
