The trust is just too easy not to use.
I've got both suppressors and 3 SBRs on my trust.

M-92 SBR (won on the ar15.com member's raffle!!!!)

and my favorite rifle, a 16" Krieger Recon with OPS 12th suppressor.

ok, next dumb question....
I'm friends with the county sheriff, not with a trust lawyer
would it still be easier to use a trust?

like I said, I dont know all the ins and outs of this yet, but it seems like if I can just say "hey man, can you sign this for me?" it would be a LOT easier than setting up a trust?
You'll still have to do the fingerprint cards also, but if he's your friend you've got no problems.

And different states have different trust laws, here in Georgia you just have to have it notarized, no informing the Sec of State, County, City, or anybody else. Local municipalities may also have specific laws regarding Class 3 weapons.
Talk to your Sheriff friend, get him to sign & make fingerprint cards (extras too), it's your best option.
