Question about Rock Krawler.

I have an RK Max Travel kit in my jeep. I am quite happy with it, and have no complaints about it at all. Today on my local forum, one of the vendors claimed that RK kits are just pieced together with parts from other manufacturers. The gist I got from his post was that RK doesn't actually make anything, they just buy it, piece it together and ship it out. He listed 3 other manufacturers and was basically saying you could get the same parts from them and know where they were coming from. I would copy his exact post, but the whole thread had disappeared. Is there any truth to this?

Nope. It's bullshit. I'm sure Rock Krawler will chime in. I don't know if they make everything in house, but they do engineer and design everything to work together as a great kit. They don't buy other peoples parts and repackage them in their kit though.
Ya I wouldn't listen to anything that vendor has to say again.
Tell the vendor on your local forum to come on over and post up. We need good entertainment.

If he believes that, he should be wilkling to defned his position.

Why can't people move product w/o trash talking other manaufacturers/vendors/companies/competitiors?

Yes, please.
They source their coil springs to another company. I'm sure there are other parts they source also, but that's irrelevant. They designed the Krawler and flex joints they use as well as the geometry of the arms.

Google specialization.

Gotta love the Internet! For those of you who have actually come to our facility, you actually have seen first hand what we do and what we make in house! The only thing we do not make in house are as follows; coil springs and sheetmetal components. Our laser cutter for sheetmetal is right down the road from us and our coil springs are made in the states! We are honest and open about how we do things and we allow the public into our facility.

Yes Dan you are right! Our bad. Our Heims are made by FK whom is known as one of the industry's best and they are very close to us as well.

Our Joints are done in house and people are more than welcome to stop by and watch us assemble them all day long! It is actually painfully boring!

We do source where appropriate! We do not make our own hardware and some small items as well. It would be unreasonable to think that a manufacturer truely manufacturer's everything. Some "manufacturers" do not actually make a thing. They design it all, source it all, put it in a box and call it theirs! That is just not what we do!

This is rediculous.

Anyone who's been to rock krawler's shop can tell you, They are not "installers" they build the kits there from round bar. CNC machines and all kinds of stuff. They do install, but thats secondary to building the kits.

Pretty sure its all built from scratch.

Here is a video we took of the process. Its just flashes, but all the stuff you see is at RK.

At about 30 seconds in, you will see the screen explode with shots of the part building process. The rest of the vid is cool, but this flash of the parts being made is what im trying to show. Watch the first 40 seconds and you can't miss it.

This is some good comedy. RK I think you should send out a personal invite publicly to this guy to come tour the facility. Then give him a survey at the end to rate his experience, which also, should be made available publicly :thankyou:
Why does Canada hate RK?
Thanks for the responses. I kinda figured this was the case, but wanted to know for sure. To be clear, I am not trying to bash RK at all, just the opposite. I've been very happy with my lift and was surprised to see a vender on a small local forum make such a statement.
Sorry, just couldn't resist that one. :D
That is ok. We kind of deserved that with you huh? LOL.
