Hi every bodys,
I possess one of rare Pentastar of France, when I put 100 % to E85, I have the codes: P0171 and P0174 who afiche on my ODB2.
Would have you a solution to remedy this problem by continuing in E85 without putting of kit because this engine is designed for this fuel.
In advance thank you for your lights.

While the Pentstar is designed as an E85 capable engine the 12' Wrangler is not. Jeep recommends a maximum of E10 for non FFV's.

Engine damage may occur if E85 is run continuously and the MIL will be illuminated. P0171,74 means the lean adaptive limit has been reached, usually about 30% more fuel than normal fuel delivery. Your JK is running very lean since the OS cannot supply enough fuel.

If E85 is run in the Wrangler Jeep recommends draining the tank, filling with proper petrol, changing the oil and filter then disconnecting the battery to reset adaptives.

Modern FFV's use virtual sensors(software) to determine fuel composition. In the old days hard sensors were used and very costly. By sensing O2 in the exhaust the fuels stoichiometry can be determined and an alcohol scaler applied. FFV's have larger injectors and can supply more fuel.

Due to the nature of E85 it's likely Chrysler chose not to activate it in the 2012 Wrangler. FFV's usually have a yellow fuel cap or ring around the filler neck.

If there is no indication your Wrangler is flex fuel capable I recommend stop using it. This information should be in your owners manual.

I am not familiar with export petrol JK's, however, I believe they will be similar to North American JK's.

If your question is can you install a kit so you can run E85 I believe they are out there.

As a side note we regularly get vehicles where E85 was inadvertently put in, or the owner bought it because it was cheaper than gas. P0171,74's are very common so one of the first questions we ask is did you put E85 in it.

Thank's for your answers.
I think definitively that the French JK are not flexfuel and cannot be to transform in the US sauce.
Thank you Mister Jeep...:bawling:
