Well while I was on vacation and posting this build on other forums I figure I should post it here as well......


Im getting ready to build another clone copy of this Jeep for my daughter.

Been wanting to build up this old YJ for a while.


End result will be linked with dana 60/ 14bolt and 40 inch rubber.

This is the way she started out. Shitty rough country lift and 33s.

Took all the junk out

Wanted to keep the 4wd light working so I went to the junkyeard and got a sensor from a durango and removed the vacuum BS from the stock Transfer case wired it up and viola.

Tons of UPS love.

Took the old king pins out. Cut off wheel and a grinder works like a charm every time.

Machined the Artec arms and Reid knuckles fopr the 3/4 tie in bolt.

Got the towers welded up now waiting on the ORIs to arrive.

I also went and picked up the 40s and 17 inch beadlocks.

Got the hubs all cleaned and new bearings, races, brakes and studs installed. Still need to pack the bearings for the front but I'll wait until final assembly. I also added dorman 194 studs to the hubs.

Got the Front axle almost ready to go back under the rig.

Chromo shafts came in but still waiting for ORIs

Got a bit of work done on the jeep this last week.

Motobilt front bumper arrived and test fitted.

Got a new boat anchor to take to the scrap yard.

Got rid fo the old shitybilt armor and decided to comp cut the rear to make more room for the 40s.

Also welded on the rear flares

Also decided to high line the front fenders as well.

Got the Motobilt back half all burned in and modified the Swag drop down tailgate to work.

Got the rear control arm brackets in place and lengths for the 2 x.250 dom arms

Got a few more things done this week.

Got the front end back underneath it and all the links made. Also got the front shock towers in place and ready for when the oris come in. Ended up right at 110 wheelbase

Spent a couple hours today making a tire carrier pretty happy with the end result. Alos got the tailights mounted.

Got her moved over to the lift to finish up painting, brakes, steering and fuel.

Getting close. I still have a few loose ends to tie up. All the armor was sent off to powdercoat. Cant wait to see it all back together!

Got some parts back from powder coat. All I have left to do is order the drive shafts and this pig is done!
