Anyone have the Offroad Hero tops? I'm thinking of replacing my Trektop with theirs and would like to see some pics of Jeeps. If you can post up I would appreciate it, but if you use photobucket don't worry about it. I can see the pics that are posted using photobucket for some reason.

WTF? cost a lot? it's like 5 tops in one, would you expect it toe cheaper?

fits so so? from the dozens of pages that i've read it fits rather well, many even state it leaks less than the factory soft top.

takes a long time to recieve (and communication sucks, you left that out) i'll give you that. but like shrockwrorks the quality out weighs the frustrations.

there are a ton of guys running it and after i get back to work and my savings is replinished i will be another one.

i got my top late this past summer. there was a small defect on the bikini portion of the soft top and i contacted him about it. he emailed right back saying he would take care of it (back in august).

let's just say my replacement JUST (yesterday) crossed into the U.S. so 6 months ish....kinda nuts.

it took about 8 weeks for me to originally get my top.

he is a man of his word, it just may take a while :shaking:

great product though! good luck:beer:

Was he Ed or Tim back then? :D

The ORH tops are great, they are well made, although not quite as well finished as Bestop. The design is excellent, they are easy to install/use/remove/etc. Customer service leaves something to be desired, but otherwise they are great tops.
The only ORH soft top I've seen is on a local 2 door Jeep and the windshield channel is incredibly poor fitting. It sticks up like inches and looks like it was meant for another Jeep. When I google others or look at them on this forum - for the money - I still don't see the value in their fitment over other brands.

Are you talking about mine? It does stick up a little.... but not much. It is slightly awkward looking and the windows do have some wrinkles.... but the versatility is nice. If you were to price out the Trektop or factory soft top and then factor in a bikini, header, and whatever else I am not thinking of to get the versatility... you'd be in for more money (quite a bit). Then you have the convenience, with the ORH solution, you don't have to store a bikini, header, and whatever else... it is all part of the top itself.

I agree... the hard top, soft top comparison makes no sense. They are different animals.

There are big pluses with the Bestop... you don't have to deal with Tim.

I love mine.
After 2 years of hard use the front is leaking down above the door handles. I acnt figure out how to fix it but have not put more then 30 minutes thought into it total lol it hardly rains here anyway.

Oh and it NEVER once flapped.....
Until i put the AEV snorkel on! Now its a flappin fiend if i dont have the air on 1/2 way or more. Damn snorkel messed up the airflow over the jeep.

your ORH top does? if so, just find some tube insulation thats the size of the "door surrounds" that come with the orh top. nothing too thick, but i bet if you wrap them with some kind of foam or something, the seal against the door will be much better.

I bought the ORH top last summer. Bad response time as far as answering email questions, but the top shipped 3 days after I paid. It did sit in US Customs for almost 3 weeks, but I can't blame ORH for that. I love this top!!! It doesn't leak, isn't any louder that the factory soft top, and the ease of use rocks. I take off the back and run it as a bikini all the time. It took a little while to get the header bar just right, but once I did, I had no problems. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Ben

PS - Not sure where the earlier poster got over $1000. When I bought my top, it was about $800 shipped.
Edit - I see that the combo top is $1000. I have the fastback top only. NM

From everything I've read in here and over "there", the ORH top is worth the $$$ and the wait. However the best way to deal with this purchase is to place the order and then forget about it completely. If you are a calender watcher, you will drive yourself nuts along with everybody else in here you complain to about the wait. Order it with the mind set of gettin some from your newly pregnant wife, chances are you're SOL for the next 9 months, but when you get it, it will be grand.....:thefinger:
