I don't post much on this forum due to lack of time.....but if you are interested in wheeling, a group from the WI4x4.com will be at McCaslin mountain Oct. 9-11. Looks like I will be the only JK on this trip...

Let me know if you have any questions!

Wow... I'm shocked, a Wisconsin member?!! (that would be my sarcasm showing).
Not sure if we'll be there (we have 2 JK's). Can you tell us a little more about what to expect there? Are stock vehicles okay? We don't have any recovery equipment yet... will it be a big enough group that others will be there to help if necessary?

Your sarcasm is why I decided to post on here....I was surprised you responded so quickly.

The trails range from easy to very demanding, but most of the challenging areas have bypasses around them. From what I've heard so far, not many stockers coming that weekend. But any wrangler is very capable stock and it should not deter you from coming. This is a good group of guys and are always willing to help out.

It's always a good idea to have recovery points front and back at a minimum. I'm not sure how many people will be there yet, I'm assuming around 10+ vehicles will show up. Usually the group splits up based on vehicle capabilities and we always help out the stockers :D

Below are a few link to the campground/trails...

Careful with the map, it's about 75% correct and trails are not marked. We have the local trail guides with us that weekend

Thanks for the info... I'm thinking we'll probably come. I'll post up over on wi4x4 when I know for sure. We're under the same name on that site... just don't post very often over there.

I guess I'm a bit of a stalker in the Great Lakes area... always waiting for some action around here!

We both have front and rear tow hooks on the Jeeps, just no winch or tow straps yet.

Do you happen to know if there is a daily charge for wheeling there?

I have an extra strap and most others will have them. Winches are not needed...I rarely use mine. I probably just jinxed myself.....

I think it's $10 or $15 per vehicle, includes one passenger.
