"Hello Shaun from northern new jersey!"

[spoken by everyone in a group hug...like at an AA meeting].

You'll have to try pretty hard to get banned over here.

Well, Welcome to the forum....I hate to open this can of worms, but what is it you are predicting getting banned for?
Because I suggested they allow linking to any site even if they weren't supporters.

I got told that I don't have to like the rules, just OBEY. And then I got a trolling infraction.

Now they won't get to see my sweet USB power port install that I'm cooking up.

welcome and all that mushy chit

but, on with the USB port install. I've been looking to do at least a double USB port but want something somewhat preassembled and don't want to get into down converting the voltage by soldering junk together

soldering is the easiest way if you want a really clean install. But I'm not a fan of cutting apart adapters and **** to do it, so I'm going to be using a 7805 Voltage regulator from Radio Shack, a panel mount stereo 3.5mm jack and a BMW iPod adapter for its wonderful line level out. :-D

This way I can stick my iPhone/iPod in the centerconsole and listen to Pandora or my tunes as I drive.

Well I just had my account deleted over at that other place (at my request). The reputation the site has gained on the other major jeep forums has shown itself to be true. The admin even called me a troll after I requested to get my account deleted.

Anyway, little more info about me.

I'm a graduate of a local technical school here in New Jersey (LTI, not really brag worthy)
Worked for two years for Daimler-Chrysler at Mercedes Benz USA in the Classic Center as an intern and in the Engineering Department as a Component Technician. At the Classic Center, I got hands on experience with some of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world. Two of the stand outs were a beautiful 540K roadster, and the 1955 300SLR that one the Mille Miglia and set the record that still stands today. It was my duty as a Component Technician to inspect any engine failure in a Mercedes vehicle that was paid under warranty. You get to see some wild blown up engines there!

I've worked in a car dealership as a Warranty Admin so I'm quite familiar with the process of warranty, not only from submitting claims, but also analyzing parts that were submitted for warranty payment.

Currently I work for another German car manufacturer doing things very similar do what I've done in the past. They have asked me though not be forthright with where I work or what I do.

So, I look forward to adding some advice and making all of your lives a living hell.

You know, since I'm a troll and all.

that's my thing

I don't want to redneck engineer a USB connector to make it work

I just find it odd that no one makes a simple USB "kit" that has the converter packaged in it where you could put it behind a panel

Para, I hard wired a cheapo 200w inverter inside the center console. It came with two outlets and a USB charger outlet. Not very elegant but it works for charging my iPhone and camera batteries etc.

Welcome to the free world shaun
