Does anyone have the name, number and location of the electrical (diode) component on the circuit board to enable DVD viewing while the vehicle is moving? This would be on a new 2009 MyGIG RER unit w/NAV.
I'm not sure that is what Chrysler did to disable the MyGig, I think it is a software issue. Most people have purchased one of two available products (black boxes) to fully enable all MyGig capabilities. Those are the LockPick and the AllGig-USB made by NavTV.com. I purchased the AllGig. I also bought their microphone for the Unconnect. The adavantage the AllGig has over the Lockpick is that when upgrades come out you can do this thru a USB connection to the blackbox. If Lockpick comes out with an upgrade then you have to buy another unit. Lockpick's microphone is cheap and thats what you get. I've heard it in a friends JK. The NavTV mic is about $100 bucks but highly efficient, clear and no static. For more info and maybe a better answer to your question, visit the Unofficial Official MyGig site at Mofv.com/mygig/. There's a schematic available on this site on the left margin.
Thanks. I am familiar with the LockPick. I just purchased an 09 Rubicon and heard from two reliable people there was a component on the circuit board, if removed would allow DVD in motion, I would like to find what and where that component is, as I am sure many others would also. I do know a similiar modification can be made on certain other radios to make a radio do more than factory specs.
